I imagine that as long as your not trying to pass yourself off as the person you should be ok. Especially if your using a celeb publicly available picture or a delusional wannabe theater reporters shoved in your face blogs picture. ( especially one that keeps saying they are well known and regarded when they are not but keeps putting herself out there in the hopes that some one will bite into her delusion)
Maggie Smith hasn't complained to me once. And yes.. SHOCKER... I am not Maggie Smith.

See, you'd THINK as long as you're not trying to pass yourself off as that person that you'd be safe, especially using a photo found freely online.
But with this website, that's clearly not the case. And in the 4+ hours this thread has been alive, no moderator has seen fit to give a response. Shocking, as usual.

I'm not talking about deleting the thread, DAME. Corine probably bitches and moans and threatens to get her lawyers involved (I've been on the receiving end of that when she couldn't get a single (free) ticket for a show) so it's probably easier to just delete it so they don't have to deal with her.
I'm talking about them deleting my profile picture.

I imagine it is easier for them to delete the picture than to dealing with her kvetching. But is sucks and it is too bad they make the easier choice. She threatened me when I had linked the John Kander interview . We all criticized it. But it was something she put out there and promoted and it was so freaking bad.

Posted: 10/8/14 at 4:53pmIt seems this particular case is something of an isolated instance because of the intent and circumstances. It's not like using photos of other board members as avatars with the intent to ridicule or provoke them is a common occurrence that has required the rules to be amended, but perhaps they should. I can only personally recall it happening once before. Why did you want/need to keep using it? It appears you already achieved your desired response. Why would it bother you so much? Would you be as indignant about the rules if someone who hated you used your photo as an avatar for no other purpose than incessant public humiliation?

It pisses me off more than usual because they remove my avatars VERY frequently. And I'm the first to admit that some of them are "questionable". But most times, they're just deleted for no reason. Same with my posts. Sometimes I get it, other times they're just normal posts that they keep deleting.

There are tons of personal issues between various board members that will probably never be resolved because both sides will never cease in combating each other, but this particular instance is an extremely rare occurrence.
