Distorts the Bible?!
It says you can sell your daughter into slavery, stone your wife, don't eat shellfish and don't wear a combination of fabrics.
Thay ARE picking and choosing.
Sore loser.

"Jack Black should remember from his days at Hebrew School that homosexual acts aren't funny and are roundly condemned in the Bible," said Dr. Gary Cass, of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. "Appearing as a sarcastic, rotund Christ, Black distorts the Bible and condones shameful, homosexual acts. Associating Christ with perverse activity is an affront to all people of faith, especially Christians. Apparently Black and company find it hilarious to falsely accuse Christians while they intentionally distort the Bible. Black ought to apologize."

Christianity has always been distorting the truth for the last 2,000 years~ like the FACT that Jesus Christ was not elevated into a "GOD" status till the Council of Nicaea during Emperor Constantine in 325 AD which the main purpose is to AGREE over the nature of Christ relationship with his Father.

No. Not all persons of faith. There are MANY Christians and Jews and even Mormons who have stood with us in this fight. Some of us ARE Christian and Jewish and even Mormon. And I'm sick of the religious right hijacking faith and pretending only they hold the correct truth of God.

Yeah, seriously. I hate that when people say "Christian" nowadays, they automatically think of the crazed, far-right loonies. The religion's all about being tolerant and loving each other. I'm the only one of my group of friends who has any religious leanings at all, and I get a lot of flak about it because insane bigots that pass for Christians nowadays.

Who picked on Phyllis?
I've been so busy assaulting and threatening Prop 8 supporters and vandalizing their churches and homes and cars that I haven't had much time to pick on anyone else.

"Christian attack on Prop 8 musical WAY funnier than the attacks on it here" would have been a better title.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

"persons of faith"
I have come to loathe that expression primarily because I hear it in Andrew "Milky Loads" Sullivan's soft, doe-eyed social worker voice.

to reply to theatre diva's comment, that is what the Old Testament says. The new testament is when Jesus comes and perfects the Old and stating all of those things are wrong and no matter what you need to be accepting of other because no one "sin" is worse than the other. you should really read up on the facts before you "pick and choose" what you want to hear.
and I am a conservative on some ideas. before you start bashing me I am not sure homosexuality is wrong because I didnt one day choose to say "i want to be straight".
and dont put all all christians in one category saying that they are crazy unaccepting people and that they all need to fuc* off because you are saying the same thing they are saying. yes, there are many right wing consevatives that will defame anything in sight they see as wrong but there are many other Christians that are not like that.
and many people say that Christians are unaccepting people and that all they do is live of off their beliefs and morals. but arent you contradicting yourself by being unaccepting of others beliefs and morals (in this case the Christians). and by you i dont mean in specific just in general.

There is some extremism on both sides, e.g., assuming that all Mormons were in favor of Prop 8 and the movie 'Twilight' should therefore be boycotted.
>>but arent you contradicting yourself by being unaccepting of others beliefs and morals (in this case the Christians). and by you i dont mean in specific just in general.<<
The difference there is that those opposing prop 8 aren't trying to insinuate their beliefs into anyone else's lives--they are trying to prevent others from doing the same to them. People don't have to accept everything about each other, but they can leave each other, and each other's rights, the heck alone.

each side has its pro and cons and you can make great points about each one.
Excuse me there are CONS to being against constitution bigotry? And there are PROS to being FOR constitutional bigotry?
you may want to get the **** out of here before you sound any more ridiculous.
even if you dont believe something is right you still need to accept that persons beliefs because they need to also accept your beliefs.
No i don't need to accept that persons' beliefs, especially if there beliefs are CRAZY and hateful.

Taking out full-page ads accusing an entire group of people of committing acts of violence is an act of violence in and of itself.
The people who signed that ad should be ashamed of themselves.

Please, alfgiotir, can you share some of the "great points" being made by the people who support Prop 8?
And WTF happened to my Jack Black post? Pffft.

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
