"to reply to theatre diva's comment, that is what the Old Testament says. The new testament is when Jesus comes and perfects the Old and stating all of those things are wrong and no matter what you need to be accepting of other because no one "sin" is worse than the other. you should really read up on the facts before you "pick and choose" what you want to hear. "
I have, you *******.
But by what you are saying, the Old Testament is wrong. So, if it is, why don't you just get rid of it?
And considering ALL of it was 'written' AFTER Jesus died, how exactly did he 'comes and perfect(s)' the bible?
Explain that one.

For the record, I didn't feel picked on. I've learned to separate disagreements about silly stuff with people I care about, so I certainly harbor no ill will towards anyone on this thread who doesn't agree me with. I think ALL of us have trouble when people we like don't like what we like.
Honestly, I thought my comments about it were benign. Good idea, good cast, mediocore material and execution.
I repeat - Shrug.

Theatrediva, I dont want to get angry and start a fight with you but these are my beliefs and opinions. my first post did come off as a know-it-all right wing Christian. I do not want to come off as that. but the reason the old testament is just "taken out" is because the whole thing isnt wrong. there are only some parts that are wrong. thats ls why there is judaism and Christianity. Jews dont believe in the New Testament because its says that Jesus is the son of God but they believe Jesus was a false prophet.
and the way jesus perfected the old testament was because he didnt write down the imperfections the writers of the New Testmament wrote down Jesus's teachings. Its like Aristotle. because aristotle didnt write down all his beliefs/teachings but his "followers/students/apprentices" wrote some of them down even after he died.
and please dont take this as me pushing my beliefs on you I just wanted to clarify some statements.
HERE'S MY RESPONSE:
When you say ‘parts of it are wrong’, what does that mean, since you are claiming that I ‘pick and choose’. You let me know which parts are correct and which aren’t.
Why are there so many ‘versions’ of the Bible? It’s just like witnesses at a car accident; they all have a different story.
Unless the clouds part and a pair of giant hands reached down out of the skies and handed it to you, the Bible is nothing but a book written by people who weren't even around when any of it happened. They wrote down what THEY believed and added things along the way, like the word homosexual.
So you go right ahead and do what ever it is you do with your book. I personally wouldn’t use the paper to wipe my @ss with.

algiotir- I know, youre young & mean no harm- youre not even 18 yrs old yet. come back and talk to us when youre mature, you know who you are? and have found someone that you really love and cannot marry that person. and YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND where we are coming from. I am not mad at you.. I am just explaining.. when I was your age (16) I am a naive Catholic boy like you and would follow anything that my priest would say or the bible... this is coming from a guy who's 23 years older than you! (old enough to be your father!) youre still young~when I was 16 - I am very very religious and close to my grandmother (who is a very devout Catholic) ~that's why I understand where youre coming from.. Also this is not like facebook where you can post your conservatives viewpoint on your status because most of friends are teenagers like you.. people here at OT will correct you!
and after 23 years.. I HAVE LEARN soo many things! and you will too! only time can tell.
One more thing: I think I told you this at facebook. There's nothing to be PROUD of being a CONSERVATIVE or leaning towards the RIGHT..Ive warned you ..be careful! ONCE THEY BRAINWASHED YOU-there's no turning back!~and dont drag the bible, my friend- when I was your age.. i read it 5 times and i thought I know sh*t-but NOT REALLY! that bible was edited and translated soo many times and that's the one that they forgot to tell you...just a friendly advice!

Oh I forgot.. but your New Testament that you said-Jesus had perfected it...I hate to break it to you.. There were MORE THAN 4 Gospels (John, Luke, Matthew, Mark) like those early Christians they PICK and CHOOSE too which Gospels are they going to include in the NT. They left out Gospels of Philip, Judas Escariot, Mary Magdalene ( i guess.. she's a woman and the early fathers of the church found her a threat?) and also Letters of the Apostolic Fathers that was omitted (letters of 1 Clement or Ignatius, the Didache of the Apostles, or the Letter to Diognetus?)
Like you... I was very fascinated with the Bible as a part of my early upbringing, but unlike my grandmother or her ancestor before her- I have to find out the truth by means of taking classes, researching and reading- You will be suprised how the NEW TESTAMENT are soo INCOMPLETE, IMPERFECT and FLAWED on a historical and archaelogical standpoint. If its Perfect howcome its incomplete? in a way that those early Fathers pick which Gospels made it to the final cut? Theyre merely humans like us and this God Almighty Perfect and all knowing let this all happen???! WTF!
Oh.. I forgot there's this Holy Spirit to guide them!
No matter how you diced it.. its really PICK and CHOOSE. Like they said we choose things we want to believed....
My advise : youre young..go out and explore...learn other religions..and don't settle on just what you know now or beliefs..like they said.. think outside the box! I can also argue that the Holy Spirit or some Holy Cr*p have guided me to seek the truth. Unending debate? Isn't it? We will always PICK & CHOOSE what we wanna believe~that's why THERE SHOULD BE A SEPARATION OF STATE & CHUCH!

I hadn't even noticed the kid wasn't even legal yet.
I then have to apologize for my language. I would never have wasted my time talking religion to someone who is not even old enough to buy cigarettes.
Besides, if I wipe my @ss with the Bible, I'd probably get a paper cut.

algiotir is a good kid. I dont think he is quite 16 yet. He is just 15 yrs old! he is very passionate about his religious beliefs and I admire that. I dont think he means any harm. Though I told him several times about the danger of what it is to be a conservative or lean towards the right wing and its consequences to other minorities. Its not because its a 'cool thing' for teenagers...sometimes what they see or hear to other peers..they think .. its the RIGHT thing to do.. or more the "COOL" or 'IN' thing to do! that's why were here to help them out. he would mature someday and i think he would learn and sort out what is JUST and RIGHT, not just because his priest or the bible tells him but based on his REASONING. I think ~He will be a good person, because his intentions are good!
But this does not apply to some adults that I lost as friends over Proposition 8. Any person who supports Prop. 8 in any form or way - could NEVER be my friend or will never be my friend! Anyways I really dont wanna hang out with people like that!
