"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I enjoyed Quidam and Dralion but, I used to work with Varikai so, I guess I would have to say that one. I want to hear some more details about Corteo. They were just putting the finishing touches on it when I was with Varekai.

I've only seen Saltimbanco and Dralion, loved them both.

Would love to get me to Vegas and see their shows there.

I've only seen Mystere. My grandparents got popcorn spilled all over them by one of the characters.

I've seen La Nouba twice in person. I absolutely adored it.

My mother called today from Las Vegas... She saw Ka last night and was at a loss for words.

I saw ALEGRIA ten years ago when it had just premiered -- it was pure magic, and still stands as my favourite Cirque experience. However, I saw the production again on its 10-year anniversary, and it's not the same at all; the show has really lost a lot of its verve.

I worked for Alegria two years ago when it was in Vancouver and saw the show over 40 times (I was an usher). I saw Quidam last year as well. I found Alegria to be much more magical, beautiful and creative than Quidam was. I'd like to see Zumanity and La Nouba though.

I want to see O, Ka, and La Nouba, but when I get older, I want to see Zumanity. I haven't seen any Cirque shows yet, and I think it's time. Maybe I'll get the La Nouba DVD.

Ok, old thread, but better than starting another.

I just saw "Corteo" Sunday afternoon, and it was brilliant. Has anyone else seen it yet? I am curious of your take on it. And what did you think of "Valentina and her balloons"?

I've never seen Shablourve or Kranblange but I bet they are awesome. Cirque Du Soleil is the Starbucks of circii for the NPR crowd.

I find it hard to believe anyone liked "KA"
"O" is spectacular.

O is the only one I've ever seen live and I loved it.

vbplayer - To answer your question there was something that bothered me about the balloons. There was just something about seeing people toss this woman around that really bothered me. I don't know how the crowd was when you saw it but mine was very rowdy and pushed her to the top of the tent. I was very put-off by it.

Although I haven't seen a Cirque Du Soleil show live yet, I love the shows that I have on DVD which are Quidam and Alegria. I especially love the song at the begging on Quidam which was very haunting and very beautiful. I also love Alegria not only because of the stunts and the music, but because I loved the singer in white. She has such an amazing voice and she seemed like she put her whole heart into what she did.

I also really want to get that short television series that Cirque Du Soleil had, but I forgot what it was called though. It was a good television series.

Boxers - The audience last Sunday was very gentle with her. Though, I can see how you were uncomfortable with the audience reaction when you saw it.
