I wonder if GLBT changed to LGBT because of how often lesbians were left out by gay men. I doubt that problem has gone away, but I remember lots of issues in the 90s of lesbians being excluded left and right. Maybe it's just chivalry? Maybe it's easier to say?

I just hope no one is offended if one only says LGBT or gay. The T really does cover a good chunk of those other letters.

I wouldn't think it's about chivalry. I'm not sure chivalry as I understand it can exist alongside equality, but that's a topic for its own thread.
