No...just before his 30th anniversary on the show, Stuart Damon received a call from the producers saying he was fired and that his character would be killed off. Many of the actors (Leslie Charleson, aka Monica) were disgusted and told the press as much.
He was one of the hostages at The Metro Court (a recent storyline) and he suffered a heart attack. Emily did whatever she could for him but he didn't get to the hospital in time. Monica performed surgery and he held on for a few days then died. It was really sad.
I hated the way they handled his funeral and death--they really don't care about any of the classic characters and don't know how to handle them. Monica was of, course, devastated. She did a great job and Tracy, of course, did a brilliant job.
I don't know how long his apparition will stick around, but I guess it meant Damon got paid for an extra few weeks!

Posted: 4/18/07 at 9:14amSounds terrible, but I was looking forward to his memorial, thinking there'd be a lot of flashbacks, reminisces, etc. It sucked. So not deserving of the actor and character.

bdwaygirl, what's with Epiphany and her "stay away from those white girls!" speech to Stan?
She annoys me. Is there no pecking order in hospitals? The nurses just boss surgeons around like that (Patrick and Robin)?

I think she can do that, as head floor nurse or whatever. They're acting like children, someone has to keep the place somewhat professional.
That said, the best line of the day yesterday was, "I am Mrs. Luke Spencer." I. LOVE. her.

Posted: 4/18/07 at 10:55amYeah, the character is annoyingly stereotypical to the point of being a caricature. But, there is something to the "white girls" comment, as Stan said something back to her about "your situation". Was his father white maybe? Or a stepfather?

I KNOW! I keep expecting her to put her hand on her hips and say "it ain't fittin'!" I don't get it.
Re: Stan. I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe his father was Rick Webber! Poor Lesley. Rick had the community shlong.

Probably. Especially in the 70s, before waterproof mascara. She did tend to look rather raccoon-ish.
In a hot way.

Nah. In the '70s no female GH character came close to Bobbi's beauty!
Holly Sutton became the ultimate GH beauty in the '80s.

I was always all about Lesley - although as a mother figure.
Or so I thought, as usual (see: Shirley Partridge).

Well, you're very very old, Robb.
I surely did, blue, although I thought it was a mother thing and that my real crush was on David Cassidy.
