Does anyone remember this rock'n'roll deejay from the 60's? He was lesser known that Dick Clark.
He did quite a bit of work as an actor at the Gateway Playhouse in the 60's (BYE, BYE BIRDIE, THE MUSIC MAN, THE MOON IS BLUE and others).
At the deli this morning, someone mentioned that they'd heard he'd died last night. Anyone know for sure? A Google Search wasn't healpful.

Yes, he has passed. I found this on Facebook:
"R.I.P. One of my chilhood heroes Clay Cole (January 1, 1938 – December 18, 2010) was a former host and disk jockey, best known for his eponymous television dance program, The Clay Cole Show, which aired in New York City on WNTA and WPIX-TV from 1959 to 1968. The Clay Cole Show was unique among early television rock 'n' roll studio dance shows; it was witty and stylish with a sophisticated New York point-of-view. It was Clay's youth (21), his dancing ability and his fully integrated studio audience that set him apart. His great show aired every Saturday evening for several of my very important formative childhood years in the NJ/NY/CT area on Channel 11, WPIX in NYC, just before CHILLER THEATRE went on, and I never missed a show. I learned everything I know about rock and roll from watching Clay Cole on TV, he was my favorite and I loved him. After nearly fifty years, I finally got a chance to meet him, and actually interview him during ROCK CON earlier in the year (see photo) and I felt like I was six years old again. I will never forget him."
