So is equating the littering of protest signs to CO2 emissions.
So much for the "liberal" media.

Who is equating the littering to CO2 emissions?
It would be nice, however, for you to actually address the fact that they littered -- and try to reconcile that with their own hypocrisy -- instead of saying acting like one of your own 4th graders with a "...well, what they did is not as bad as what they're against! So there! Hmph!" That's a classic diversionary tactic and it's rather ineffective, especially since I did not try to equate the two.

Posted: 9/22/14 at 3:06pmThis is extremely short-sighted. We should be supporting climate for the whole year. Not just March. Or at the very least, sync the climate with Daylight Savings Time so we change our clocks and the climate at the same time. Otherwise, I'll forget. I still try to come into work on MLK day.

I can barely remember the Alamo, but only because of Jan Hooks.
If we change the climate, does that mean Helen Hunt will get sucked up into a tornado?

At 3:02 it asked:

Behold! The 'case has convinced himself he is in the "center" (which is delusional) and this is how he can make these constant false equivalencies. To him, on the right, he imagines there is the same number of people to the left of him and the same number of people to the right and that there is the same distribution of power on both sides and the same finances. It's all hooey.
Bottom line, 400,000 people made a statement that the time for action is now.
They won't be undermined by the "if it can't be perfect it's stupid to do anything at all" crowd.

Posted: 9/23/14 at 8:50amOh, boy. I think you've finally cracked... Seeing as I haven't even returned to this thread until now. This is the first I've noticed you actually circling back around, hours later, to return to a thread by picking up a conversation revolving around me. I am usually the one to initiate. Now it's you. You either have absolutely nothing better to do at 11:44pm on a Monday night, or you have absolutely nothing better to do at 11:44pm on a Monday night. Try unplugging before going to bed. It will do you a load of good, and perhaps improve the quality of your life... ya know, the the real one you (hopefully) have outside of a virtual message board that is ... well ... not real.

You must know by now that you have to take your own insights with a grain of salt. NONE of the conclusions you reach are correct.

Still, it's a grim day when some of the city's most dedicated activists are blind to the impact of their own habits. Coffee cups are generally coated with plastic, which makes them neither recyclable nor compostable. Plastic cups and cans are recyclable, and letting them simply fall from your hand when you're done with them is not an acceptable means of disposal. Paper and cardboard make up over 40 percent of the solid waste sent to die in North American landfills. The square-footage of natural habitat lost making a 16-ounce paper cup with a sleeve is estimated to be .93 square-feet. In 2006, more than 6.5 million trees were cut down to make 16 billion coffee-specific paper cups for U.S. consumers, resulting in 253 million pounds of waste.

Oh wow, 400,000 people left 400,000 pieces of trash or sign debris? 4000 pieces? 400 pieces, possibly.
At least concede that it seems like the hypocrisy was at a minority.

Posted: 9/23/14 at 3:30pmNot only does Liza's Headache try to control the topics of discussion in threads, but now it dictates how and what people should post and when? Interesting form of judgment and dictatorial methods coming from a "centrist" who searches a decade of threads to troll ancient topics for a purpose and relevancy worthy of Fox News. The "You ain't got nothin' better to do" comeback is truly the height of clueless hypocrisy. It's been a while since someone made this big of an idiot of themselves on BWW.

Once again, you have proven that what you know about the personal lives of the members of this board is nothing. The tween girl insults might be more effective on Facebook or a Justin Bieber fansite.

But it takes a true idiot like Liza's to sell those images as having a significant meaning.

I really find it boring to respond to people with little respect for the intelligence of others until I become truly irritated. I'm irritated. Below is a post from the first page:
"America only accounts for about 20% of global carbon emissions, with India and China as the biggest offenders. Until those nations have a sudden change of heart, removing 20% of the pollution will have little (if any) impact on the world's climate."
Does the person who posted this realize that the USA makes up only 4.3% of the world population? China makes up 19% and India 17% respectively. Per capita, emissions are: USA 17.2, China 7.2, and India 1.2.
I wouldn't be surprised if the poster doesn't grasp what that means. It's symptomatic of the lazy, endlessly contrary meanderings that eat up thread page after thread page of illogic from a handful intentionally thoughtless individuals.
A good rule of thumb: If you're going to play devil's advocate, you better be smarter than your intended audience.
That's my contribution to this topic.
