The march looks big! And I just realized, without clean air and water, there would be no way to have autograph tables at the Broadway Flea Market.

Posted: 9/21/14 at 2:03pmI was there for a while. It's astonishingly huge. None of the photos I've seen online yet show how huge.

People need to realize if we don't have clean air to breathe Jen Cody won't be able to auction off Broadway items!

Posted: 9/21/14 at 5:49pmSome of the organizers are saying as many as 300,000 people came to march, which is huge since over 100,000 were expected. I wish I could have gone, but I really hope a march of this scale brings these important issues to the forefront of people's thoughts. Environmentalism is not always the most pleasant thing to think about, since it forces us to consider our future long term on this planet, but it's so important and that needs to be recognized by so many more people.

Posted: 9/21/14 at 8:06pmI guess the irony is lost on everyone about how much energy it takes to bring 300,000 to NYC. I've seen busload after busload arriving for this hoax.

At least they were carpooling versus all 300,000 driving individual vehicles there.
Was there a large crowd watching? I didn't know this was going on and didn't see anyone waiting behind the barricades on 42nd between 6th & 7th.

Better mass transit and walkable/bike-able cities are one important component of reducing our impact on the Earth. If only the fossil fuel industry and its Republican underlings would get out of the way. Then again, the Rockefellers just divested.
From the Times: "The family of John D. Rockefeller, whose legendary wealth was built on oil, plans to rid the $860 million Rockefeller Brothers Fund of investments in companies trading in nonrenewable energy."
So, out of the way John Stossel and the Fox News dinosaurs and their acolytes.

How is this a hoax? The march... actually happened.

Is somebody who is allegedly not concerned about the climate in the least upset that people found a more efficient way to travel or is he or she secretly terrified about the climate changing?
Any chance it's the abstinent gay man who bargained with God and swore he'd pray away the gay if he were spared in the early days of the AIDS epidemic?

Posted: 9/22/14 at 9:06amAmerica only accounts for about 20% of global carbon emissions, with India and China as the biggest offenders. Until those nations have a sudden change of heart, removing 20% of the pollution will have little (if any) impact on the world's climate.

Seven and a half cents doesn't buy a hell of a lot.
Seven and a half cents doesn't mean a thing.
But give it to me every hour,
Forty hours every week,
And that's enough for me to be living like a king!

It's good to see that everyone dug themselves out of the trash heaps that these Earth lovers left behind. Love the pile of signs they just threw down on the sidewalk.
Clean Up Your Mess.

Posted: 9/22/14 at 1:28pm^^^^ Now, Gotham, those signs were biodegradable and made of recycled materials! That way, the tree huggers felt good about themselves and were able to sleep last night!

They do not get up and walk on their own. In order for the signs to be recycled, they must be collected and placed in a receptacle. That was not done yesterday. Instead, they chose to litter the environment they claim to love and protect.
The hypocrisy is hilarious. I must say.
