The soon to be Oscar'd duo are adapting Michael Chabon.
How great is this going to be?
A shiddach made in heaven!

Posted: 2/12/08 at 11:01pmI think it's a novel that may lend itself to cinema. It's got a wonky plot and the hardboiled moody atmosphere will suit the Coen brothers nicely. It's not my favorite Chabon novel (I'd rather see Kavalier and Clay finally make it to the big screen) but I'd go see it!

Posted: 2/12/08 at 11:08pmOoo, really? I'm only sort of looking forward to that one because it seems like they really played down the gay plot... I haven't seen hide nor hair, any mention of it in any description of the movie, nor have I been able to figure out which actor plays that character. Seems like a gross mistranslation of a novel that's all about the relationships between men and women and men and men both as friends and lovers.

Posted: 2/13/08 at 11:22amI just looked around for "Mysteries of Pittsburgh" and- is it possible that they eliminated the character of Arthur Lecomte? Talk about a different movie! I'll still go see it- but seriously, why make the film if he's not in it?

Posted: 2/13/08 at 11:55amI privated you cause I couldn't think how to describe him without it being a spoiler- but I always thought of him as the central character in the book- the one person everyone else interacts with.
