yay for meeting him!

My first Colin experience was tick, tick...Boom! at Georgestreet Playhouse in Jersey and then The Last Five Years. (He took off from Rent to do them.) He was incredible in both, but ttB is something I will never forget. It's definitely one of my favorite theatre experiences and probably the most emotional. His acting and singing were just perfect that night and he was obviously very touched by the show as well. I regret not having seen him in Rent at all.

Most of them read like, "7Minutes met Colin Hanlon and acted like an ass and then went home. The end!"

The first time I saw him/ever heard of him was the first time I saw RENT, in November 2003. I'd gone down expecting Matt Caplan (with everyone and their mom telling me how awesome he was), and when we got there he was on vacation. I was like, "What the hell? Vacation?! You've gotta be kidding me!" We got to our seats, and I was being a cantankerous little thing, and just before the show started I leaned over to my friend and whispered, "This kid better be ****ing good" (excuse my language). Then he came out onto the stage and it took me about a minute to fall for him. I really think his Mark is perfect, there's not a thing I would change about it.

After the show, my friend and I were chilling in the lobby, waiting for people, and we saw him come out and meet up with a group of friends. We didn't want to bother him if he was with people, so we got our stuff to leave, but he saw us as he was walking by, so he came back to sign our Playbills and take pictures, and he ended up talking to us for nearly ten minutes. It was an unbelievably nice gesture. I could post the picture if anyone's interested in it.

I'm so glad you saw him as Mark. He is, without a doubt, the best Mark I've seen. And almost the best Roger, right behind Will Chase.

The thing I liked best about his Roger was that he got more of a reaction from me than the others I had seen, and while I didn't necessarily agree with every choice he made, he was 100% committed to the character (as with every role I've seen him play thus far), and unfortunately, that's becoming increasingly rare. I like that he doesn't hold anything back.

Well, I'm a huge fan of Cowboy Bebop, and "7Minutes" is the name of my second-favorite song from the series (my first favorite is called "Blue" but "7Minutes" sounds a lot cooler). That show has some of the best music I've ever heard in my life, no lie.
