Bravo. ABC seems to be having some good shows.....finally. I think this one has some good possibilities.
Saw it and loved it, impossible not to watch a show with Geena Davis about the first women president...

I felt it lacked the energetic spark of the pilot episode of WEST WING - one of the greatest pilots ever. Of course, this first episode centered so much on death and grieving. I hope future episodes will weave in a little more wit.
I enjoyed some of it, but the writing left MUCH to be desired. Also I just can't buy the story line West Wing is still better.
i was totally waiting for her to whip off that sensible suit, brandish her cutlass and swing from a chandelier a la cuttroat island. geena, you'll always be a pirate to me.
I agree w/ you Mom. Needs more depth. Very predicitible.
Papa, I was waiting for her to FREAK out as the dieing commander in chief turned in to "presidentfly".
more sugar, please.
I have a feeling that this show will do very well.

ok, why didn't her husband scream "Stop calling me the First Lady!"?
I don't buy the whole "I want you to be the Vice-President, but not replace me if I croak" storyline. Anything could happen. The President could trip on the stairs of Air Force One and break his neck, then wha-la! the Vice takes over.

Yeah, I thought in some parts I could've had the TV muted and not miss anything. The diologue wasn't that good. Maybe in the next few episodes the writers will have more character and what not.
But did anyone not see her son! WOWZA! He's delicious, with a pretty nice tush too.

Hey! He's legal.
IMDb.com said the actor was on Manhunt, but I only watched the last three or four episodes and I don't think I caught him. Did anyone else watch the show?
back to Commander in Chief: I've been looking forward to this for a while and when I saw the credits, I was disappointed. Geena Davis is a producer.

But see, I really didn't like last nights episode. I thought the dialogue could've been better in most places, and every reference to Hilary Clinton cut out.
And I know the title of the one married to the President is "First Lady", but in this case it's a man. "First Husband" is a much nicer sounding title.

Actually, the counterpart to "First Lady" would be "First Gentleman", but that's a small point. So you think the poor writing was due to Davis' dual role?

No, I just think she didn't do very well with what she was given. I thought with her experience she'd knew which lines to say and which ones to asq "must I really say that?"
i really bought geena's authority. they won the ratings for the night. lets see if it can sustain interest.

I'll give it another shot, but that's it.
I take that back.. the dialogue got better near the end. I thought her speech was really good, especially when the teleaid thing "messed up".
"The President could trip on the stairs of Air Force One and break his neck..."
One can hope...

The whole Hillary thing was them trying to have the wit of West Wing and they failed at. I can't stand the oldest daughter she is such a pain I wanted to smack her. Good thing the son is really hot though.
