Doodle, as I never watched the program itself, I was referring to that particular number.
Sorry, Munk, it's sad to see what has happened to her (even though she was trying to be funny, it fell flat to me).

Even if she meant it to be funny, (and who would really think she was serious?) it was too long and too slow. Whoever said her credibility was shot is so right. I will never see her in the same way again. Kind of like walking in on your parents having sex.

"Countdown" on MSNBC just spliced in some footage of Dan Rather into this "song" and they did a farewell to both Connie and Dan which ended with "Happy Trails To You, Until We Meet Again".
To those who may not know, Dan and Connie were once co-anchors on the CBS Evening News.

While "cooter bone" is funny, it was funnier when Jaime Presley said that her baby was "still beating his little fists against her cooter wall" on My Name Is Earl. I was crying.

Thanks for the Parody — Maybe

USA Today
(June 20) — Former network anchor Connie Chung has always had a fun side and loves to sing parodies. "I didn't rebel as a teenager. At 60, you can do anything," she said Monday from her Montana summer home. Chung pushed the envelope Saturday with a purposely off-key and over-the-top swan song to the tune of Thanks for the Memory on the final edition of her short-lived MSNBC talk show with her husband, Maury Povich.
The clip was an instant hit on YouTube.com, where 300,000-plus people — more than watched Weekends with Maury & Connie — clicked to watch Chung, draped across a grand piano in a white evening gown and gloves, singing, "Thanks for tuning in ... to watch the Con take on the Poves."
Reviews were mixed. "There's a fine line between parody and self-parody, and Chung just erased it," said Bob Lichter of the Center for Media and Public Affairs. "I'd say she shouldn't quit her day job, but it's too late for that."
Us editor Janice Min was more generous. Chung has always "been game for making fun of herself, being silly, and having a good time. Her candor probably makes a lot of other TV news anchors uncomfortable, but endears the public to her."
It was a "giant joke," Chung said. And to those who found the parody unseemly for a former CBS Evening News anchor? "Get a life!"
