Hi all:
I'm new to these message boards, so I'll start off by saying hello!
I have a very important audition coming up soon, and I was wondering if anyone knew good musical theater songs that are classified as contemporary? I'm a Mezzo-Soprano with a decently wide range. Please, preferably something not overdone, i.e. Wicked, Rent, Hairspray, Jason Robert Brown stuff/The Last Five Years, or Next to Normal as the show I'm auditioning for is a comedy.
I would very much appreciate any advice! Thank you!

If you want comedy, there's some good stuff for mezzo-belt in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Full Monty.
Any opinion on "Miss Byrd" from Closer Than Ever? Do you know if it's too overdone?
How about Alto's Lament?
