COP ROCK. No, it didn't work. No, it didn't last long. But at least it had original music.
Suck on this, GLEE-tards
And, at least eight years previously...bitchin' synth solos!
madbrian- I LOVE that clip- I could watch it over and over! Anyway, I always get a kick out of when they take a regular drama and make one show that is all musical- and it's usually bad. Case in point- there was a musical Seventh Heaven episode that was so painfully bad it was laughable! Watching Ruthie try to sing was just, well, PAINFUL!
I do love Cop Rock, partly for the absurd stuff, partly for the awkwardness, but mostly because, every once in a while, it actually worked!

I love Kathleen Wilhoite! And, unless my ears deceive me, I think that's a Randy Newman song.
Yes, borstal...it's one of the few Newman songs I really like. He wrote it for his opera "Faust" and reused it here.
Wilhoite was the only one who came away unscathed by the direction or mis-direction of this show. Every one of her songs is wonderful in it and her story line was the only interesting one. I love this as well:
