Hi everyone,
Hope I'm not posting to late, but I have a question. I'm going to be moving to New York sometime in the near future. My question is about appartments, and such. I want to live in the city, or near the city. I'm selling my house, so I'll have a little over 100,000.00 dollars. Now where in the city can I rent or even buy a place in a decent neighborhood. I'd prefer a two bedroom, but I doubt that's likly. So any suggestions about locations, rent, or buying an appartment. Which would be better?
A friend told me that I could buy a decent apt, for that kind of money, but it's been years since he's lived in NY so things change. So I thought who better to ask than you guys here.
Any help would be greatly apperciated!
Thanks!

I'll tell ya, 100K won't buy you nuthin. Maybe an old laundromat in Queens. You'll have to shovel out 250-500K to get something livable.
With that said, the NY Times just put out an article saying that in NYC, buying isn't always the best option (oddly enough). I'd listen to whatever Jailyard says...him being the expert and all.
