I'm also in the production, and I cannot say enough great things about this show. Of all the shows I've ever done with Prospect, this one is by far not only my favorite, but the most well-performed. This cast is incredible, and Pete has outdone himself with this score. Every time I play it, I love it more :) Come see us!

Just a small correction, there were 12 of us in the pit this year, not 9. I was the reed 2 (principal clarinet/bass clarinet, solo Eb clarinet/tenor sax, and 2nd flute). No, it wasn't optimal, but I think we did a rather respectable job with the reduction (which had to be auditioned for and approved by the Bernstein Estate), as did a large majority of our audiences this year, judging by the hordes of people that made it a point to stop by the pit after every show. Hi there! :) I'm really glad you were able to see the production, and enjoyed it! I was the Reed 1 player in the orchestra, and playing this show was probably the highlight of my summer. Wasn't Mary Catherine (Beth) just AMAZING?! I was never able to get through her "Not A Day Goes By" without tearing up a little bit (and it's hard to play those flute solos when you're crying!). Anyway, thanks for coming, and yes, wouldn't it be LOVELY to see this show on the big stage!!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to spread the word about this amazing musical that just started previews this week at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater on W. 64th Street. It's a beautiful show about the Jewish ghetto of Thereisenstadt (Terezin) founded by the Nazis as an ostensible hub of the most intellectual and artistically influential Jews in Europe, but was actually just a waystation for Auschwitz. It's incredibly moving...the score and the performances are wonderful, and it stars BWW's ow...

Thanks for coming, Vespertine! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the show! Everyone involved worked REALLY hard, and we had endless hours of rehearsal over the past few days, but it was all totally worth it. (I was in the orchestra). Wasn't Mario hilarious?!

No, I didn't mean the union itself. I am well aware that they must join the union, and the union makes out like a bandit. As a working musician and a member of the union, this concept sits uneasily with me, primarily because it takes away work from us. I saw the show on Tuesday night. I have never liked Mary Poppins, I found the movie dull and boring, even as a child, and the books never interested me all that much.
