Inevitable, I suppose but still....sadz

I'm sad, too. I will say he did the funniest hosting job at one of the many galas at Just for Laughs, Montreal, that I have ever seen. Very theatrical. He'd do great with a big budget show.
Love him. I still think he has the best monologues of all the late night shows. I'll be sad to see him go.

I think CBS will eventually regret this decision. Colbert is not that funny on his show where he basically pretends to be Bill O'Reilly. Will he be able to continue the fake persona as the new host? I don't think that schtick will fly on CBS and I am not sure ho successful Colbert has been when he is playing himself. Ferguson was a riot and the only reason I did not watch him more was because he was on so late.

Actually, Colbert is HILARIOUS as that character and extremely talented in other roles. He's bright and quick witted. It's no wonder he's not your cup of tea.
Here's Craig's announcement for those who don't want to stay up

Craig Ferguson is literally the worst. Good riddance.

Obviously.
Somewhat makes sense given Worldwide Pants/Letterman's company is closing up shop with Letterman retiring. Guess Ferguson figured he would be running on borrowed time without them. I liked Ferguson's monologue style. Assuming CBS still wants this show in LA.
I will miss him so.
His show has had some incredible moments. The show after his father's death. His speech about his alcoholism and how he wouldn't go after Britney Spears because of it. His opening musical moments (I miss those).
My absolute favorite monologue

Thinking of his first monologue after the Boston Marathon bombing still puts a lump in my throat.
Yes! Very appropriately intense and pointed.
