Has anybody watched the 2 episodes so far?
Yes. Online.
And I howled!
I love the snake that swallowed the cat.
I love it. The dog that makes prints had me laughing so hard...
Hopefully, it will hang around for awhile
I posted something about this on another thread. I started watching this when it was made in Britain and all the interviews were with the British. I've never laughed so hard in my life! I started recording them when suddenly BBC America stopped running the show. Imagine my excitement when I found out they were starting it up here! (In all honesty though - I thought the Brits were even funnier!) Needless to say, my tapes are now filling up with the new episodes.
I believe they're going to be on tomorrow night. I don't know if this is a permanent change from Sunday but it's something to look forward to!
Oops - I had a feeling that went in twice.
I'll use the opportunity to tell you about my favorite one from the BBC. It was all about the problems people (the animals) had raising children. One of the animals they interviewed was an amoeba. All the time she's talking about how the kids are running amok and she can't get control of them, her cell keeps dividing - again and again and again. By the time she finishes talking there are hundreds of 'kids' all over the screen.
I absolutely LOVE this show!
i'm with Diva, the snake that swallowed the cat was hilarious. i also love the bird couple where one is crosseyed and mute.
LOL - and did you catch how her one eye keeps rolling out to the right? All the time he's talking about his sexual attraction to her. It's priceless.
The British ones are great - they oriignally made them back in the '80s, as well as some TV adverts with a similar theme. They've made a couple of new series recently that went down very well.
Not seen the US series, but the guys at aardmans (Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run etc) are genius and I'm sure they've come up with some more hilarious 'characters' :)
So they are taken from actual interviews and not scripted, right? I read that about the British series, but couldn't see it confirmed anywhere about the American one.
right. they're not scripted. but they do ask them to discuss certain topics which could LOOK scripted. like they asked a set "how do you feel about flying" & such.

Hysterical! I loved the dog making the prints as well. That had me laughing so hard. I also liked the two cockroach ladies.
I had a bunch of the British ones on VHS a while back. There was on episode in which the interviewees were animals at the zoo. Very funny stuff.
The two episodes shown last night were the first two originally shown on Monday. At the end they said that brand new eps would be on this Monday. I was afraid for a bit that they were going to be moving it around every week. That's always a sure killer for a new show. (I loved those two little snails discussing animal magnetism. "Is that like animals with magnets on your refrigerator?")

I watched them. They're absolutely brilliant. I can't wait for more.
I know they are based on interviews. Are the interviews filmed? Are the motions of the animals based on the movements of the people whose voices are being used?
I have no idea. I'd love to know who they were interviewing when they asked the lions if they'd ever killed a human.
And once again, network TV in this country had made a giant step BACKWARDS. Not only has CBS pulled the plug on this brilliant show - but they aren't even going to broadcast the final 4 episodes. I've given up on them completely.
It won't do any good - but if you feel like venting, you can write here:
