I understand the intentions are good... but, yeesh..
From beyond the grave...
Unquestionably creepy. Bordering on tacky. And weird, too. I mean, couldn't they just use someone who's living? Why John? For instance, I do believe Ringo is available.

Obviously, Yoko gave them permission, and even if she isn't charging them any money, she is still a grave robbing whore.
Yeah, I heard she has approved the spot. I thought parts of the copy were weird.

Cuz they couldn't use the word "Imagine."
Of course Ringo's could be good: "An Octopus's Garden isn't coomplete without a laptop. Be the friends poor children get a little help froom to get by with."
ETA: "she is still a grave robbing whore." Oh come on. Why stop at misogyny? Where's the "chink" for good measure?
"I tried to do it through me music--but now I'm dead. You can do it. Do it with something that hadn't been invented when I died."
Nothing creepy about that, Yoko. Oh, NO!
And ALL of the Monkees are still living.
Not sure al the members of Herman's Hermits are, but Peter Noonan is. And what about the Dave Clark Five? The possibilities are endless if they'd just imagine.
Since it is for charity I will give them a pass. But yea, pretty creepy. I wonder who did the voice, Mike Meyers?
"I tried to do it through me music"-exactly, PJ.
Who's the marketing genius who came up with this?

That is supposed to be John Lennon?
I suppose all charities are good, but I would rather give my money to an organization that will provide food and medical attention.
Although I do have an extra X-box if they're interested.
Didn't they do that with Lennon in Forrest Gump?
Tacky.
And why would they want to give lap tops to starving kids?
So they can order food online?

They should have gone with Paul Rudd. His John Lennon in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story could have been in Beatlemania.
"And why would they want to give lap tops to starving kids?"
Good point-why not give them the $1500 instead?
I'll take the xbox tazber.
Wow. Just...wow.

These little laptops are $200.
The exploitation of all things Beatles has pissed me off for years -- this is a new low in a sea of lows.
But I think hearing "All You Need Is Love" associated with banking was about the ultimate contradiction of the Beatles' gift.

This is the original creepy ad, in my book.
just don't smoke
"These little laptops are $200."
Do you know that their whole family can live off of $200.00 a year?
Besides, do they have DSL? A phone line to hook it up to?
I think these kids need more than just a laptop.
I just came across this, quite by accident, when I was looking for something for my kids:

He wouldn't know what a laptop is. Thus it has no credibility.
