I have no idea but they made an impression anyway. I don't think I ever put any thought into it as a kid as to the ad telling me I am not a robot so I can't replace my arm--but it still freaked me out (in the way as a kid you look forward to every time it airs...) Apparently they've done a more recent batch that were all CGI but the magic, alas, is lost for me.
