Spring Awakening revival announcement tomorrow?

Jun 10, 2026 — 9:18:03 AM

This is so exciting. They're clearly aiming for the younger crowd with Taymor, but it's also a delightful treat for us OG fans who are now 33 and have our own money. I'll be there!

CHESS Sets June 21 Closing

The Trump/Biden jokes are there so you understand he is the present time. The jokes are also there to underline that there is not much difference between the 70’s and our time. We are still being manipulated by the great powers and we were polarized 40 years ago just as we are now. It really is not that hard to understand. If you have opinions at least give t...

What ever happened to Alice Ripley

Aug 17, 2025 — 6:21:55 PM

I want to echo what others have said about the (d)evolution of Alice in Next to Normal. I saw it for the first time when I was sixteen, and she gave what was and remains the single best performance I have ever seen, which made it all the more disappointing to see what became of it toward the end of her run in the show. And I disagree that 2009 was a weak year for Best Actress, or that Ripley had no serious competition. I remember people on here at the time wondering if Allison Janney might bea...

operIncident at Operation Mincemeat

Jul 2, 2025 — 4:12:50 PM

I too am inclined to think this was far more likely to be the work of some drunken tool than an IRL Nazi. I'm glad the performers didn't acknowledge it, even if house staff should have. Don't give these fvckers any oxygen.

Kimberly Akimbo tour

Jun 2, 2025 — 4:58:53 PM

I got last minute tickets in Boston for sixty something bucks, so I think it likely depends on the venue.Incidentally, I didn't know they'd planned to run for another entire year! I wonder if we'll get a replacement Kim...

Will We Ever See a Best Little Whorehouse Revival?

Feb 13, 2025 — 3:58:28 PM

For some fun, and for those who've never seen it, here's ''The Aggie Song'' from ''Whorehouse'' on the 1979 Tony Awards. Gotta bethe most censored song ever on a Tony telecast.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbxkV5phyxoXylophone working over time. Makes you wonder why they didn't just do A Little Bitty Pissant Country Place. The footage isn't the clearest, but the entire Actor's Fund performance is on Youtube.

AUDRA GYPSY Reviews

Dec 27, 2024 — 2:37:31 PM

God, this is brutal, and, as others have pointed out, happening at the worst possible time. A lose-lose for everyone involved. Is it standard practice for understudies and stand-bys not to rehearse before the opening? Seems like something like this would have happened by now if so...

Salty Teardrops from Caroline, or Change...what does it mean?

Dec 9, 2024 — 5:22:58 PM

Practically, the song likely exists to give the actress playing Caroline a break immediately following Lot's Wife. Without it she'd be onstage until almost the very end of the show. Since it's performed by the Radio, I always assumed the song sits (mostly) outside the narrative and takes the form of a popular song of the day, in which case the "this" is likely a romantic affair.

Has anyone won the TodayTix lottery or otherwise seen this in its most recent incarnation?

Sep 24, 2024 — 7:04:15 PM

"The Dead, 1904" to Return!

Sep 19, 2024 — 4:02:37 PM

The production returns to the Irish Historical Society on November 20, starring Estelle Parsons and Mary Beth Peil. Buy tickets here, if you have a spare $400-1k. Apparently they're going to offer a lottery through Today Tix, but no info yet on pricing. It's a real shame they've set the price point where it is. This was a beautiful production when I saw it in 2018.
