Crow endorses Urinetown lifestyle

"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit"

And may I also suggest using her sheet music?

When I lived in Guatemala, we made do with discarded newspapers.

Hail Malthus!
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

"I also like the idea of not using paper napkins, which happen to be made from virgin wood and represent the height of wastefulness. I have designed a clothing line that has what's called a "dining sleeve." The sleeve is detachable and can be replaced with another "dining sleeve," after usage. The design will offer the "diner" the convenience of wiping his mouth on his sleeve rather than throwing out yet another barely used paper product. I think this idea could also translate quite well to those suffering with an annoying head cold."

After reading that portion of the blog, I've come to the conclusion that she must be joking. Right????

re: Crow endorses Urinetown lifestyle

ummm, she wants people to wipe their runny noses onto a paper sleeve? And LEAVE it there??

GROSS.

Actually, it's a cloth sleeve. It'll be like having a cloth napkin attached to your sleeve (I'm imagining some sort of Renaissance-like drapey thing). And hey, as she says, it's detachable, so you can remove it after you've gooped it all up. (Ewwwwwwwwwwwww...)

Remove and replace immediately? Pull another out of your pocket? Or leave it there for the duration of the meal, evening, whatever - which is, REVOLTING.

And how will this conserve? The "sleeve" will still have to be washed using electricity and water.

Again, when I read that part of the blog, I really, really came to the conclusion that she's joking. If she's not, that's, well, just WACKO. ('Cause seriously, you can achieve the same thing by bringing cloth napkins with you to a restaurant. They don't have to be attached to your sleeve! It's got to be a joke.)

PLUS she had the nerve to get lippy to that nice Karl Rove.

Hey, I like Sheryl Crow. I'm just saying I think the blog post may be partly a joke. The tone is just...odd. The part about how the detachable sleeve idea "could also translate quite well to those suffering with an annoying head cold" just sounds like she's being silly on purpose, to me. Maybe I'm wrong...

"She's obviously joking."

I guess I need a lesson in Humor 101. Is this supposed to be self-deprecating humor? If it was posted anonymously, I would see it as humor ragging on environmentalists. But since she's an environmentalist, why is it funny?
