I was in Hawaii a couple of years ago on tour and she was performing across the street from my hotel.
One of the (straight) guys in the company went to see her.
He came home with an 8X10 of himself hugging her from behind.
In the photo her eyes are completely crossed - in and down. It's hysterical.

Posted: 5/6/05 at 6:24pmOMG cookie...that picture is fabulous. I think Charo is so hilarious! She cracked me up on Surreal Life...putting her and Flava Flav together...overload on comedy...lol

She's beautiful.
Don't you think the silly stuff is just for show?

I do. It's the classic "let me be silly so they underestimate me, but I know better" bit...

Posted: 5/6/05 at 6:55pmDoesn't she have a masters degree in classic guitar or something like that?

Caught her show in Hawaii a number of years back. She interacted with me in the audience and I even had my photo taken with her. Of course, it was all just a ruse to get you to buy the photo as you exited the theatre. Which of course I did. She put on a surprisingly good show. And she never seems to age.
Enjoy the show Beav!

Beaver, who is that in the autographed picture with charo, and why did she inscribe the photo to "carne" (meat)?

She's leaning against it so it mst have made quite an impression.
What I really want to know is - How old is Charo?

Yes, her age???
She was on TODAY over the Christmas holidays singing, out on the plaza. What a sport. No band, no nothing. Just Charo with the pre-recorded music. She looked great in her mini Santa dress.

Charo is more accomplished than many realize. She is an extremely talented musician and a savvy buisness person. In spite of the image she ahs made for herself, she is a very intelligent woman.
As far as the age question, I think she is about 63 years old.

Posted: 5/7/05 at 9:37amWe watched one of those TVLand events last year, and in the midst of all the doddering stars from the days of yore, she stood out like a light in the dark. Completely on top of her game, and diminished not one iota. I would pay to see her in a heartbeat - in fact, I'm a little jealous, Beav!
