When a show's premise is about the workplace, and said show has a good ensemble of actors with interesting characters, then spends the whole season focusing on the leading man's home life and silly flashbacks. And when said show spends so much time focusing on a mediocre actress (lets call her Betty for argument's sake) and so little time on an interesting actress (lets call her Joan for argument's sake).
I'm just going to say the name of these two shows outright. Heroes and Grey's Anatomy.
Heroes, because it's just been the " Sylar and Claire" show now. I loved the first season, but then somehow the focus has just been on these two. I can kind of understand the extra attention being given to Zachary Quinto because of Star Trek, but I just don't get all the fuss about Claire * and she just happens to be the invincible one.* I also really liked Peter during the first season too, but now he's just annoying.
And I'm a little ok with Grey's Anatomy now. But when they had their usual formula of: Izzie drama, ghost Denny, Meredith and Derek aren't getting married, *insert McSteamy shirtless here*, sex, Bailey cries, Where's George?; it really got annoying to the point where I just started to look on line to read spoilers and to see if anything interesting happened (which most of the time, didn't happen.)
And then of course there's George. He *SPOILER SPOILER* ends of getting hit by a bus, dies, and only gets one episode where the characters remember him,*SPOILER END* yet ghost, hallucination Denny get's more screen time when he was only there for a few episodes. They could have gotten rid of George the second season and it really wouldn't have made a difference with the storyline. It's as if he never existed. At least ER kept up with the consistency of their characters when they left. The only thing that's keeping me watching right now is Owen and Christina's relationship. If that ends, then I'm done with the show.
