Yeah sure, it's all Bush's fault that gays can't marry. Obama could have fixed that immediately, but guess what? It wasn't on his agenda.

We all know that "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was Bush's fault. EXCEPT THAT IT WASN'T. It was Democrat Bill Clinton who signed that.

And she doesn't even make sense about Evangelicals. How did they fleece Cyndi Lauper's pocket? Did she donate to Benny Hinn and then not get her wish granted?

Did you actually watch it Goth? Goth, you had a hissy fit that a gay student won a law suit last week for discrimination so you understanding something like this with your hateful attitude is not shocking. She was not talking just about gay marriage. It was Bush's hateful policy towards gays. Hell, Bush refused to even declare June gay pride month for Gods sake!Any idiot(including you Goth) could look to see how the Bush administration treated and looked at gay issues.

"Any idiot(including you Goth) could look to see how the Bush administration treated and looked at gay issues."

Please provide a list of legislation Bush signed that was comparable to Clinton's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in its anti-gay sentiment.

I believe you are mistaken. The way I read your comment, you're saying that Obama could have legalized same-sex marriage via executive order?

Obama has majority rule in Congress. If it was on his agenda, he could have had it legalized his first month in office. But civil rights for gay people is not on his agenda.

"Obama has majority rule in Congress. If it was on his agenda..."

Right, because we know you can get ANYTHING through the US Senate with a majority. Can we at least have the pretense of being fair? There's plenty to blame to go around for this administration regarding equal rights without fabricating things.

"Can we at least have the pretense of being fair?"

No because liberals don't want to play fair. Look at this very situation. Lauper is blaming eight years of Bush (and Evangelicals) because gays don't have rights. Well what about eight years of Clinton? What about it being a state issue and why haven't all 50 states voted for it.

Liberals tend to have a very narrow view of politics as demonstrated by Lauper. "It's all Bush's fault" doesn't work anymore.

LOL! OH PUH-LEASE! Lauper is right on the money and it drives you nuts that she is right. Obama got elected because she was right. Bush was a disaster, not just on gay issues but EVERYTHING! This economy is the result of 8 years of Bush. It is very slowly turning around and when it does you people will take credit somehow.

With the exception of your first sentence, you make very valid points. Your points would be better taken if they weren't wrapped in outrageous pretense. In my opinion, it's better to keep the conversation at a reasonable, rational level.

That's funny. Perhaps maybe you should look at your liberal friends and tell them that. Liberals won't deal with facts; over-the-top, emotional, knee-jerk communication is all they understand.

"Goth, you could always lead by example, you know."

Are you here to practice your typing skills? Obviously you're not dealing in reality. Turn your question around. Why doesn't Cyndi Lauper deal in reality? She's trying to sell an album and obviously thinks gays are the only ones going to buy it. With her attitude, why should Evangelicals buy her album?

Actually, I often do. Folks often blame the GOP for derailing Clinton's social agenda, but it was the conservative Dems that derailed it. Many of those Dems paid for it with their jobs in the 1994 midterms.

Folks often blame the GOP for everything as evidenced in this video.

Once again I'll ask: Please point to legislation Bush signed that is equal to "Don't Ask Don't Tell".

Much as it pains me to admit I agree with Goth on a political issue, he does have a point. The most prominent anti-gay legislation on the books are Don't Ask, Don't Tell and DOMA, both of which were signed into law by Clinton. Bush's administration was by no means gay-friendly, but Obama is being called to fix Clinton's mistakes, not Bush's.

Last week Goth had a hissy fit because a lesbian won a lawsuit. He was foaming at the mouth angry over this injustice. This week he is royally pissed that Cyndi Lauper is slamming George Bush and praising gays.Goth would not know a fact if it bit him on the ass.Are you accusing these African Americans who were spit on and called the N word, liars? Crowd full of witnesses but according to Goth, if there are no witnesses, video, or anything else then it did not happen.
