...but is it too little too late? With only two new episodes left this season, Desperate Housewives IMO has finally got itself back to the kooky but sophisticated soap-fun it was all of season one and at the very beginning of season two. The episode in which (SPOILER) Gabrielle's baby was taken from her (END SPOILER) was great and yesterdays episode was wonderful as well leaving many questions unanswered by the end of the hour...which is what we love to hate about Desperate Housewives.

The cast is still phenomenal (Marcia Cross deserves the Emmy...I really hope all five main women win during the shows run) but the show is finally getting itself back in the groove I think.

I've thought the whole second half of this season has been great after a very rocky start. Still not a fan of the Betty stuff, and Susan annoys the hell out of me, but the other three housewives are phenomenonal.

I totally agree, Jason! I hate that they totally changed Caleb once that original actor got fired (so now he's all chatty? Plus now he comes off as a naive innocent, where the other actor played him as totally damaged and scared...it annoys me every time I see him). The whole Applewhite storyline is annoying (and I love Alfre Woodard...what a shame). And Susan/Hatcher is enough to drive me to drink. It totally needs to just be the Bree/Lynette show, imho.

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

It is nice to know that I am not the only one that doesn't like that storyline...

But these past two episodes have been better than earlier, i almost stopped watching.

I completly agree it's getting better. I was actually able to get my mom to watch this new episode. After loving the first season, she thought the second one was stupid. Lets hope they can keep it up!

I gotta say if Andrew and Betty's son who is dating Danielle (I forget his name...) are both now off the show I am incredibly disappointed! That means there are no more attractive guys under that age of 30... What are the odds they'd bring John back so I'd have something to stare at.

Oh,Andrew is not gone. The writers would be stupid to get rid of him. I'm sure he will have some sort of cliffhanger come 2 weeks.

Oh yea, I can't imagine Andrew gone. Although I really wouldn't mind...I hate seeing him. He's such a little sh*t. Plus, Marc Cherry said that he's going to do something so terribly horrible to Bree, he's expecting lots of letters complaining. Yea, sleeping with your mother's bf is bad, but I'm waiting for something a lot worse!

Also, I loved the episode, but I think burning down Susan's house was a little extreme...even for Edie. It seemed way out of character for her.

Susan starting it was sorta accidental. Edie did it deliberately.

eva's "acting" when they took the baby from her was bad. it is most certainly the episode she will submit for emmy consideration but it was just awful. i think she took overacting 101 to the extremes.

I read Susan was moving into a trailer park...interesting.

Yea, it can be tit for tat, but Susan did it accidently. Edie was just a b*tch and burnt Susan's down for spite.

In Susan's defense, Carl lied to her and said he and Edie were already kaput!

Mike = Dreamy

Edit: Though why she chose that moment to believe him after all his other lies to her, I don't know.

Finally, the show started showing promise. Since the beginning of this season, it has been not up to par. Marc Cherry made a mistake bringing Applewhite and in and then it was too late. No one cared about her. They wanted the "desperate housewives". Is the son who was locked in the closet just going to die in there? Seems she sold her house and apparently will disappear. So much for a loving mother. I am glad Bree finally took a stand with Andrew. Ugh. I want to punch him. Thre are many more story lines to tell and I would like to see the "fifth" housewife come back in a few episodes. The one who narrates the show. I heard Eva Longeria is tired of doing the show and may want out. Her storyline has been kind of running thin also. Carlos, who is very cute, just seems to be there for scenery.

I think that Eva without question deserves to be Emmy nominated this year. After season one in which she seemed relegated to second fiddle, the writers brought her front and center and she delightfully sunk her teeth into some juicy comedy. She has been a high point for me this season.

I still think Marcia deserved the Emmy last year. From episode one, she displayed her brilliant acting skills.
