Per suggestion, I am trying to download Toast, but I'm having trouble finding a free version that I don't need some sort of registration for.
Can I just use any DVD authoring program? Does anyone have recommendations, or know of a place I can easily download Toast?
Thanks.

Emcee - check out versiontracker.com. Toast Titanium is a commercial app, so you won't see a free version of it, but there's Toast Lite (I've never tried it, and I think you still have to pay for that, just not as much). And there are also some shareware and freeware on there. I've only used Toast, so I don't know what the others are like, but try and see which one works for you.
iDVD is to create DVDs, and it includes the capability of to burn, but I don't know if you can use it to burn data onto a DVD. (Like, you can use iTunes to burn audio CDs, but not to create a data disk... does that make sense?)

I'm not trying to burn data, no. Trying to copy a DVD (non-commercial, fear not).
amasis, I've been looking on versiontracker. Thanks.
Toast Lite appeared to be free, but when I downloaded it I couldn't open it.

emcee, seriously, the ability to burn a dvd is inherent in the mac operating software dependign on what version of the os you're running.
won't disk copy do that?

Posted: 1/22/06 at 11:42pmThe first thing I tried in my mission to copy this disc was to just use what came with the OS, and I just got folders; not a play-able movie. So I got some suggestions on programs to use, but I'm running into trouble, still. I'll keep messing around with it, though.
