Per suggestion, I am trying to download Toast, but I'm having trouble finding a free version that I don't need some sort of registration for.

Can I just use any DVD authoring program? Does anyone have recommendations, or know of a place I can easily download Toast?

Thanks.

This probably isn't helpful, but doesn't the Mac come with iDVD - software meant for DVD burning?

Emcee - check out versiontracker.com. Toast Titanium is a commercial app, so you won't see a free version of it, but there's Toast Lite (I've never tried it, and I think you still have to pay for that, just not as much). And there are also some shareware and freeware on there. I've only used Toast, so I don't know what the others are like, but try and see which one works for you.

iDVD is to create DVDs, and it includes the capability of to burn, but I don't know if you can use it to burn data onto a DVD. (Like, you can use iTunes to burn audio CDs, but not to create a data disk... does that make sense?)

if you want to make a data dvd, just drop the data onto the dvd and then right click the icon and one of the options should be burn disk.

I'm not trying to burn data, no. Trying to copy a DVD (non-commercial, fear not).

amasis, I've been looking on versiontracker. Thanks. re: dvd burning software for macs Toast Lite appeared to be free, but when I downloaded it I couldn't open it.

emcee, seriously, the ability to burn a dvd is inherent in the mac operating software dependign on what version of the os you're running.

won't disk copy do that?

The first thing I tried in my mission to copy this disc was to just use what came with the OS, and I just got folders; not a play-able movie. So I got some suggestions on programs to use, but I'm running into trouble, still. I'll keep messing around with it, though.
