Daily Show Responds to First Responder Bill

Did anyone see this last night? Jon Stewart had on first responders and had their reactions to the bill not passing in the Senate. Pretty moving stuff, and again pointed out just how broken both the Congressional system AND the mainstream press are.

It was an incredible episode. Comedy Central reruns Stewart & Colbert the next day, so I strongly urge folks to catch/record a rerun of last night's Daily Show. I know it airs at 7PM eastern tonight.

And while I am not a fan of Huckabee, who was on to promote a book, he was clearly on the right side of this issue, although Stewart caught him trying to push the blame to the Dems based on misinformation.

It was interesting - I felt Huckabee wanted to sympathize with the responders, but the party wouldn't let him. He tried throwing a couple of things out shifting blame on the Democrats, and Stewart kept shooting it down one after the other. Huckabee came across as caught - NOT a good night for Republican to be a guest!

This isn't really surprising from the same people who wave flags and scream, "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!!" - all while slashing veteran benefits.
