Damn you, Ben. Damn you, Jerry.

I did have a yummy B&J Peanut Butter Cookie Dough ice cream bar dipped in chocolate at the lake a few weeks ago. $2.50ish, but that didn't seem too crazy.

I actually prefer Häagen-Dazs. I am not usually a huge chocolate ice cream fan, but their chocolate peanut butter is my weakness. Just before I moved, they started carrying that flavor in the tiny little individual cups for $1. So wonderful.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I go for Chubby Hubby myself.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

My new all time favorite is Haagen Das Amaretto Almond crunch in a Hot fudge sundae (the other fudge I like to pack!)

Strawberry Cheesecake has been my poison of choice for a while. Until this weekend when I discovered the new flavor Cinnamon Bun. Sinful!!

I used to eat Haagen Dasz a lot, but then I discovered that they're licensed to Nestle in the U.S. and I boycott Nestle because it's evil. So no more Haagen Dasz for me. Damn you, Ben. Damn you, Jerry.

However, for now I do have a more-than-adequate substitute in the artisinal gelato place that opened about a mile from my apartment. Two words: Yogurt gelato. NOM NOM NOM.

Damn you, Ben. Damn you, Jerry.

I just found out that the local ice cream place I grew up with back home in Cleveland will ship ice cream direct to my door here in NY! You can't believe how happy this has made me. I don't know how much it will cost, but I can't wait to find out (and be more than willing to pay for it, lol).

Should any of you find yourself in the Cleveland area for some reason during the summer (their season is actually mid-March to mid-November) do yourselves a favor and look up Honey Hut ice cream. The ice cream is made fresh daily and uses honey in place of sugar to sweeten their ice cream. I have yet to find an equal to their Orange Blossom flavor, and their Fresh Banana ice cream is well in the top of the various banana ice creams I have ever had. To top it off, before closing down for the winter months, their October/November offering of Pumpkin ice cream is simply amazing.

I recently was in a contest where I won 2nd prize -- it was 2 weeks all expenses paid in Cleveland.

First prize was one week.

Damn you, Ben. Damn you, Jerry.

I just discovered Boston Cream Pie. Delicious but needs a chocolate swirl instead of a small smattering of chocolate chunks.

Where in Cleveland? (I grew up there...)

And not to high jack the Ben and Jerry theme, but I just have to share my joy. I've been on a black raspberry ice cream quest for years. There's black raspberry frozen yogurt with chocolate chips around, but it's not really the black raspberry of my childhood. Happened to be in New Jersey the other night and stopped at Holstein's (where the last scene of the the Soprano's was shot)in Bloomfield (or maybe Montclair...) and they have home made black raspberry that was better than I could have hoped for. Just sayin'... it almost makes me want to get into the car and drive for an hour just to go back.

Well, I grew up in Old Brooklyn, going to the original Honey Hut location on State Road right off of 480. They also now have locations in Parma (about 2 miles south of 480, also on State Road), Brecksville (around the intersection of 82 and 21), Bay Village (at Huntington Beach), and Strongsville (on Pearl Road).

I've been to Hollstein's- happily- a couple of times. I'd say it's definitely worth an hour's drive, or even two!
