I was watching the TV Guide channel last night and they were playing a show about the biggest blunders in tv history.

One of the things they said was that Dana Delaney turned down the role of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. Can you imagine how great that show would have been if Delaney was Carrie rather than that horse-faced scarecrow that got the role?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

No. Although the character infuriated me at times, Sarah Jessica Parker was perfectly cast, and the chemistry between the four actresses was great.

Dana made a dynamite Colleen McMurphy, though.

I'm sure Dana would have been fine, but I think the show would have been very different.

I thought SJP et al were perfect in their respective roles. I loved that show.

I like Dana Delaney, but I think Sarah was perfectly cast for Sex and the City. And I think Sarah's gorgeous as well. Her performance was pretty much pitch-perfect for the character and show (as well as in The Family Stone). And she must have done pretty well to have created such an instantly iconic character (so much so that she is often assumed to have the exact same behavior and fashion sensibility). Just this weekend, I saw Sarah's appearance on Graham Norton. She was utterly charming and looked stunning. They even discussed how people are often intimidated by Sarah, assuming they have to dress up in the latest fashion when appearing with her, which she immediately shot down because she explained she's simply NOT Carrie Bradshaw. If Dana were to replace anyone on the show, I could see her as Samantha.

You gotta love any actress who can live down EXIT TO EDEN.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

SJP may not be as "attractive" as Dana Delaney but she is not scarecrow! LOL LOL

I don't think she's "horse-faced", either.

I also think SJP brings a NYC energy to the show being a theatre actress and a woman who lives in NYC. I think that translates into the Carrie character.

"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

I thought Stephen King's CARRIE as well. Didn't know if this was a bad nightmare, remake, or whatever.

I thought this referred to Carrie the movie also.

I cannot imagine Dana Delany in the SITC role. At all. Ugh.
