Dance Question! Help!

"All applicants are required to participate in a dance audition, which will be taught as a class, with work in ballet, contemporary, and jazz. Appropriate dress is expected."

For a guy what would you say the "appropriate dress" is?

depends what the audition is for. but you do generally want to wear jazz pants with a dance belt, shirt of your choice. something that they can see your body in.

Jazz pants, dance belt, plain t-shirt, black ballet slippers and jazz shoes. Contemporary will most likely be done barefoot.

Or you might want to wear a colored tshirt to stick out a little. But make suer that they can see your body.

You don't want to wear anything baggy. Its alright to show some personality, like a colored shirt or something like that, but don't over do it! Dance auditions are so much about your body language because thats all you are showing them, you aren't allowed to talk (except for more than just a question). You want to exhume confidence and also a willingness to learn what they are teaching.

you could wear jazz shoes for jazz and ballet...or you could wear jazz shoes/sneakers for the jazz, ballet shoes for ballet, and you'll be barefoot for contemporary.
