Danes are too damn rude

Ok, we have witnessed some rude Danes in the past few days, but today took the cake.

We are waiting outside Rosenborg (one of the royal castles) today waiting to get in, and near us was a group of school kids, teens, very well-behaved.

Down the sidewalk come a man and woman, and as she passes the students, she pushes one poor kid out of the way....and what is odd is he was not in her way. She had to walk 2ft out of her way to push him.

It was the final straw for me, as Steve was assaulted verbally at the airport by a subway ticket seller, and if you knew Steve, you'd know he'd
never say a word or do anything to upset anyone.

While changing money the bank person was nasty, and we've had a couple waitress experiences and a bus driver experience.

When we travel we are overly polite as we feel we are ambassadors of the US, and while the Scots, Spainiards and Swedes were wonderful (and the Scots bent over backwards to be helpful) the Danes (for the most part) have just been nasty.

SO, this couple keeps walking and I look at her and told her it was incredibly rude to push the poor kid, and she gritted her teeth and started to scream at me.

I told her she was really being foolish and walked away.

I am over it. I cannot wait to get to Germany tomorrow!

I hate generalizations....but based on the past two days, you can have the Danes!

Well, if FESTEN was any indication, they were all molested by their fathers while everyone pretended it was normal.

No wonder Hamlet was such a pissy little bitch.

I am amazed. I had always thought Danes to be reserved and polite people.

I had similar problems in Copenhagen. A random woman yelled (actually yelled) at me for crossing against the light (you can take the New Yorker out of New York...), hotel staff were brusque, and some waiters I encountered were very rude. However, there were a couple people who were exceptionally helpful. Overall, I was left cold by the city and its people. Maybe it's just a cultural thing.

But SOMMS, his T-shirt labels him as the Devil. And he has an upside-down pentagram directly above his man-parts.

I think Dane Cook is hot. Moronic and unfunny, but hot.

I hope they were wearing kilts at the time.

The last time I went to Cafe Wha there was a Danish girl dancing right next to my table and she almost "converted" me.....she was really something.

Things must have really changed in the last twenty years. I loved it when I was there, the people were so nice. Even the cops (we had our car stolen. So I guess not everyone was nice. We did get it back undamaged, though).

I actually understand the woman yelling at you for jaywalking. The Danes are exceptionally law abiding, and expect you to be, too. Look up "jantelov" if you want to find out how Danes think - the mindset of a small homogenous population. I loved Denmark - sounds like it is too late to go back.
