No way. Bowie is dull in films. Bale is the one who deserves the acclaim in the bloated film.

Do you know what happens when you let Veal Prince Orloff sit in an oven too long?

He was fine. Nothing special.

If Jackie Earl Haley doesn't win for his heartbreaking performance in "Little Children", it will be a crime!

I also loved the man who played Ira (the Indian) in FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, and Steve Carrell for LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE.

Tesla's not a sufficiently large or challenging role to warrant it. Bowie did fine with what he had, but Caine, Jackman, Bale, and Rebecca Hall all did more. (I hope this is Hall's breakout role.)

Bowie didn't stand out at all - no reason for him to get it. I agree about Steve Carell - right now the award is his to lose, but I think that there's a good chance at a nom. from Dreamgirls down the pike...

He did a good job, but in no way do I think it's Oscar worthy. Bale was excellent, though.

I was really impressed with Bowie in that film. In fact, I thought he was the best thing in it. I thought that Bale started out fine but became increasingly irritating as the film went on. I became convinced that the snotty sneer on his face was the only expression he was capable of making. I was not impressed with him at all.
