Take a break from politics and come back to a day when a daydream believer and a homecoming queen could cheer up Sleepy Jean.

Maybe that day is coming back.

Davy Jones, mine.
I think you're right about Sleepy Jean. I could never understand those lyrics--they just made me feel good.

Posted: 2/5/08 at 6:16pmdidn't Davey have a background in musical theatre/music hall in england before being drafted into the Monkees?
re: Daydream Believer#8
Posted: 2/5/08 at 6:22pmHe played the Artful Dodger in Oliver! in London and on Broadway. He appeared with the Broadway cast on the Ed Sullivan Show the same night the Beatles debuted in America.

Yes, Bowie's real name is David Jones.
I actually SAW Davy as the Artful Dodger - it was my firast Broadway show -I was five years old!
By the way, the guy who wrote Daydream Believer died recently.

Davy Jones gave me fangirl feelings when the show debuted and I was 6 yrs old.
then at 11 I had fangirl feelings for Richard Chamberlain when his Hamlet appeared on Halmark Hall of Fame and we even had a classroom study along guide w/ PICS.
then at 14 I had GROWN UP WOMAN FEELINGS every time Marjoe appeared on cop shows as crazed junkie hippie of the week. and game shows. and Circus of the Stars and Johnny Carson. and Fantasy Island.
I think i watched too much TV.

Mickey was, like Davy, a former child actor.
Mickey has been quoted as saying, "The Monkees were two actors (himself and Davy) who had to learn how to be rock musicians, and two rock musicians (Mike and Peter) who had to learn how to act."
