^Appreciate the wishes on his behalf. Thankfully he wasn't with me today - he reached out to ask me about it and we got to talking about it. I guess to me it just feels a bit too vague overall, but clearly that's not an overall experience. I also have to say - I don't know if I feel like this needs to transfer. It doesn't really feel like something that will be commercially viable. I also felt kind of like they're trying to replicate Come from Away a bit.

I saw the matinee today and I'm definitely still processing my thoughts. The material is very heavy and I didn't realize until after when friends of mine were asking about it how very few knew what it was about. One friend felt immediately triggered by the subject matter of organ donation as they had recently lost a family member and been through that process. Oh - you're totally right, but it's just such a jerk to the system having seen her play Martha many times during the original run. I saw a clip on their socials of her talking about playing the role and how it will feel being the one who interacts with Martha now. It is such a full circle moment. But, yes - I feel ancient despite it all.

I am a Roseland year survivor and I was telling someone that if on a scale of 1 to 10 - 1 being the worst, 10 being the best - Roseland was a 1, Hammerstein was a 3. Hammerstein had space in the basement [as noted by others above] to allow folks an escape from the main floor whereas Roseland had not a single ounce of space to allow for breathing room.I waited on line to get in for about 2 hours - I got on the line around 10:30-10:45 and got in roughly around 12:30-12:45ish. Elf also has annually had a non equity tour happen [even during the same season as the Broadway revival in 2024]. I think this is such a perfect way to counter balance the current perception of her after the whole situation with the Charlie Kirk comment. She'll be her usual bubbly and silly self and remind people why they fell in love with her to begin with. Kudos to her team for arranging this.I can't wait to see her and Alan banter back and forth.

Echoing several others, but Spring Awakening absolutely changed my life and I don't know who I would be today without it. His music from that show is forever engrained in me and for it I will forever be grateful. I got to meet him at the original production's closing and got him to sign my In The Flesh book and he was so lovely. I hope he knows just how deeply the work he did impacted so many. A brand new musical with no names running a year that brought us the Broadway debut of Sam Tutty and the victorious return of Christiani Pitts? That's a win in my book. This show will do very well on tour and then it's future life in regional and community theaters. I'm so happy this show got to come to Broadway in the first place. I'll never forget the first time I went down to DC and saw a show at the Kennedy Center. The energy and the joy that morosco describes is just palpable. Also, the sight of the Opera House's stunning chandelier is breathtaking in person. I took the trip down to Baltimore yesterday for the matinee and the tour is really wonderful. The only major set change was they don't have the revovle so instead of Oliver and James walking through his house they put them in a picture frame and have a picture behind that that changes to reflect the changing of the room. The London cast recording got me through the pandemic with its warmth and nostaglia. The minute the Broadway transfer got announced, I bought a ticket for first preview. Getting to see the show after having held on to it so tightly during the pandemic was a really special moment. This show has so much heart and joy, and I will miss it so much. WICKED live-to-film concert tour -- brilliant, or the beginning of the end?

Musical films being screened with a live orchestra is nothing new. I just saw The Wizard of Oz back in June played by the Philadelphia Orchestra and it was wonderful. But it's just the film on a screen while the musicians play the music. The vocals from the soundtrack are in tact, just with the live musicians playing. The experience of seeing Wicked [the movie] on a screen with a live orchestra is not comparable to the experience of seeing the Broadway, London, or touring production. There's ...
