I mean...I like hyperbole as much as the next person, but come ON.
My best friend is a teacher at a school that is mostly shelter and project kids. Yes, for many of them, their only certain source of meals is at school. He lives on Long Island and made it to school without much of an issue. He, like Erik, takes his job seriously and knows that NYC schools rarely close for weather. He also saw just how difficult life was for his kids during Sandy.

That was hyperbole on my part but, regardless of the party, there has been a well documented history of questionable policymaking and corruption on the part of the School Chancellor for the last couple of decades (including the debacle that was Cathie Black).

But how has that corruption played out with regard to school closures? I'm not seeing the possible payoff. Much less how it compares to racism and homophobia.
