I've started watching Dead Like Me on Netflix as I missed it when it was originally on tv.

Does anyone know why Rebecca Gayheart didn't stay with the show? Her character is interesting (the 1920s independent woman) and it seems like they just started to build her character and then she's gone from the show.

From my understanding it was due to her vehicular manslaughter charges from two years prior. The director liked her and pushed for her to stay but the producers didn't want someone who had killed a child playing a reaper. They eventually got their way.

^^ That makes total sense. I never thought about that. Still, I like her in that show.

I also love Jasmine Guy as the meter maid. This show had some great casting.

She also had another accident after she hit the little boy. She flipped a rental car into two other cars just a few months later.

I too watched it on Netflix and it is ashame it wasn't given a proper ending. It was a very good show along with "Wonder Falls" which I watched on Netflix after Dead Like Me.

Yeah, the story was the event with the little boy made her a nervous driver. If so - how about not driving? I know LA isn't NYC but I'm sure she could have found a way if it upset her that much.

uncageg, I think the whole genre wasn't given proper endings. Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies. They all had some great stuff but just didn't last.

I bailed on "Pushing Daisies". Even though "Wonder Falls" didn't have a true ending, I was kind of satisfied with the last episode. That was such a fun show.

No, but your Broadway credentials will be marked as "Potential Non-Broadway Fan"
