Dearly beloved....

We gather here... etc, etc.

Guys, Roger died. My laptop. He's dead. Some file apparently corrupted my system, and after over an hour on the phone with tech support, I need to wipe out my whole system and re-load Windows. The computer program that would restore the system won't open - the computer starts fine, but can't do anything. I can't access any of my files, so before I re-install Windows, I have to take the computer somewhere and have my hard-drive extracted and saved. It's going to cost me at least fifty bucks that I don't have.

I feel like I've lost a limb. Dearly beloved....

Of course I did, Thenardier.

Don't you dare f*cking pass judgement on me, Chita. You have no idea. I don't have it in me to say what you deserve to have said to you. I must be that bad of a person. Trust me darling, yours must be right around the corner.

Chita, I CAN'T wait for something bad to happen to you. Gotta love your logic.

Yeah, he went through me being such an awful human being. Poor baby!

Seriously, this is about my computer. And the loss of my computer. re: Dearly beloved....

re: Dearly beloved....

If I deserve to hear it, shouldn't someone as good as you be the one to do it?

Oh Emcee no!

LOVED that you named it Roger though. I'm sorry that had to happen. Just think of Raul and the world will be at peace. He's the silver lining to everything!

re: Dearly beloved....

But all of my pictures, music, videos and other such attractive man memorabilia are on that machine! *sob*

re: Dearly beloved....

Ah, that really is tragic! Hopefully it won't cost too much and you'll have Roger back up and running...and all you're wonderful Raul attractive man memorabilia will be back for you to gawk at for hours on end. I know I would!

re: Dearly beloved....

aw, Thenardier - you blew my cover!

On a serious note, my life is on that machine. I mean, not just pictures and silly crap, but important schoolwork and things.

I will pray for you, as I am sure will many others.
PEACE.

re: Dearly beloved....

aw, thanks, Thenardier. And I thank all of you for your prayers, as I'm sure my computer hears them, and is listening.

But yeah, the tech support guy had me try several different things in safe mode. Poor guy sounded like he felt bad, I was flipping out, and he couldn't do anything else. If anyone has any suggestions on what else I can try to get this thing up and running again, though, I'll happily take them.

Chita - SATAN LOVES A SINNER/YOU'RE A SINNER

Em - have you deleted any files yet? If you can get into safe mode...and get to akk your files...you will probably need a memory stick (as I am sure you don't have a floppy disc drive - and you can't burn CDs in Safe Mode)....you can copy files onto your memory stick and put them on some one else's computer....reformat your computer...then put all the files back.

Do you use a dell?

re: Dearly beloved....

It's an IBM, Thenardier. And I can't; even in safe mode, I literally can't open or access anything. That's why the guy told me my only option was to wipe out Windows.
