I hate this time but I love it too. All the Oscar winning movies come out and it puts a hole into my wallet. So far I've seen Bridget Jones and Finding Neverland. I recomend both, especially FN. I also want to see POTO, Aviator, Polar Express, Incredibles, Closer, and National Treasure. And if you live in Westchester, like me, it's $10 to go to the movies, plus the popcorn and soda. Then I have to get presents for friends and family. If you're not good at math, this equals bankruptcy!!!
I'm also in Westchester, so I hear you on the whole $10 thing. It's insane! I hardly ever go to movies anymore because the price keeps on going up, but this December, all of the good movies are out. So if you see 5 movies, then BAM! You're down $50, which is the cost of a discounted Broadway show ticket.
*sigh* I wish movies were cheaper, especially around the holidays when you need to buy things for people.
In Westchester, for a few extra bucks go see Polar Express in the 3D Imax theater. It's awesome.

I also live in Westchester and now its 11 dollars for a night show. Lucky for me though i have free passes to the movies and imax from my dad's work. Just used one today for the incredibles and one last week for polar express

Here's a simple way to save money. Go to college in the middle of absolutely nowhere, so when the good movies come out you'll be stuck studying for finals, half an hour away from the nearest (crappy) theater.
I'm not bitter.
Oh never mind. I mis-read your post.

ohh how i want to see finding neverland. and i do suggest national treasure. i think it's a good holiday movie.
... I was stupid enough to let my friends talk me into seeing spongebob this evening. Not only do i want my money back, but i would also appreciate that one and a half hours of my life that were WASTED!

That's also a problem. My friends made me see THE GRUDGE. It was good for a laugh.

I'm usually too busy (or too tired!!) during the holiday season to SEE any of the cool new movies, so I hate that end-of-year timing. Of them all I would like to see Finding Neverland the most, I think...I may try to fit that in.
They're only $5 if you pick them up on 49th & 5th.

I solved that problem, I worked at a movie theatre and got free passes!
Unfortunately due to school and rehearsals I had to quit..........however, I live in a mid-sized Canadian city, so the tickets for the crap theatre are $7.95CDN which aint too bad.....however, in Toronto you can spend up to $15CDN at a downtown theatre.
