Hey Degrassi fans here in the states:

Did anyone see the Behind the Scenes programs that aired today? They showed "sneak peaks" for season five which starts on 10/6. I can't wait! I never was an Ashley fan but now I really can't stand her!

I met Cassie Steele (Manny) this summer opening for a band, SHes a wicked singer. The new season started in Canada. Manny wants to get boob jobs and flashes a camera and its released all around the school and is kicked outta the house for it.

Cassie Steele has a GREAT voice. One of my friends somehow got a couple copies of some songs she recorded, and they were very good. It's surprising that they haven't really utilized her gift on the show. But they have so many singing characters (Craig, Ashley, Hazel, Paige, formerly Teri) that they've probably been trying to avoid turning someone else into one. I feel like she sang in like a dream sequence in the second season, though... I might be wrong.

I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

I'll admit that I've seen many episodes of this show, but sometimes I find it really ridiculous. It seems like they're trying to touch on every issue imaginable just so it looks like they're being risky or something. I realize that all of the things that happen on the show do happen in real life, but what are the chances that ALL of these things would happen within this small group of people? And how about the most recent season finale...a little strange. Craig was homeless for like 4 hours and he became schizophrenic in a homeless shelter...and got beaten up by a homeless man...and then randomly the next day he was back with his family and happy.

I am Degrassi obsessed. I have all of the old school episodes on my computer (which are of course replaced by DVDs when they're released) and all of the Degrassi TNG up until the second episode of season 5 (the most recent epi released in Canada).

There is a Degrassi Yahoo! group that set up a episode sharing chatroom on the downloading program Soulseek, so you can usually get the episodes within a few hours of them airing in Canada. I am way too impatient to wait for them to air in the U.S....not to mention "The-N" has been known to edit portions of episodes which annoys me greatly.

By the by, I am far too old for this obsession.

Degrassi! Why do we have to wait so long for the new season in the States? Not fair!

We actually didn't have to wait that long this time around. In the past we've had to wait 6 months to a year for the new season, but this time we're only 3 weeks behind Canada.

I guess, but still...the American shows that they have are on schedule with ours, aren't they?

I agree, the wait this time around was not bad at all. I am also way to old for this obsession, and the fact that I think Craig is a total hottie makes me feel like a perv.

Definitely ditto. But, hey, he's gotta be pretty close to 18 now if he isn't already.

And I have a major crush on Joey even though he's probably 10 years older than me.

Okay, I just watched like 5 episodes last night at my cousins house (she has satelite) and I got slightly obsessed. The bad thing is that she's in San Antonio and I'm 500 miles away again in college. I guess I just wanted to say that I love this show and I think I'll be keeping up with this thread just to know how the show is going!

Marco and Dylan got back together this prior season.

Does anyone know if Marco and the gang that graduated will be apart of the show in the new season?
