"When I eat a burger it is a treat. They are so fattening so I only eat them once a month."
This has nothing to do with your menstrual cycle, does it, Corine?

Awwwe the 2nd Ave Deli closed? My grandfather used to take us there (or bring food home) all the time when I was little!
My favorite deli isnt near Bryant Park -- it's actually by the Wintergarden.... The Majestic. Great sandwiches, burgers, paninis.... love it there.
Europan is pretty good too; that's 8th and 43rd. Decent. I like the paninis more than the actual sandwiches though.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...

Posted: 6/23/06 at 9:55pmYup. There used to be a kosher deli in Patchogue--near Shand's hardware store. I used to eat there regularly when I worked at Sweezey's. I enjoyed Cel Ray and stuffed derma and a whole host of Jewish foods.

I love Jewish deli but not as much as Asian food.
Japanese, thai, chinese, korean, vietnamese.
I live for everything Asian. The clothing. The food.

OK, you guys officially got me in the mood for some deli. Are there any Kosher NY Delis open on Saturdays during the day?
ETA: Found one! Ben's is open.
Off I go.

I am going back a LONG time here. But that place had pretty good stuffed derma. When you worked at Sweezey's did you know Flo Fink? I think her son Michael {redhead} was in your class. Ok, enough threadjacking on my part!

Posted: 6/24/06 at 5:05pmThe Finks have known me since the day I was born. Murray and Flo flew out to see Mom a few months ago. They are like family to me. Anyway, we always went "deli hopping" with them. I must take a trip down to see them soon.

Posted: 6/26/06 at 2:11pmShe wont recognize the name Yenta. She only refers to me as "the a**hole who I dodn't even consider my niece. " Still don't know if I am coming in because if I stay at Flo's I have to contend with a houseful of heavy smokers and I am not sure I really want to do that. I will let you know if I come because I want to see you........FINALLY.
