re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

Was it just me or did they have an inordinate number of commercials in that episode?!?!?

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

It was great. I'm so, so glad that they wrapped up Mary Alice's history instead of dragging it out past its due. But what will next season's big story arc be?

When Rex died, I teared up just a bit. I can't imagine losing someone that way.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

There were tons of commercials! (and hi Mabel, long time no see!)

***Spoilers if you didn't watch yet***

I thought it was obvious that Rex was going to be the one to die. I'm glad that Mike didn't kill Paul Young, no idea if Zach will shoot him upon his entering the house though.

Hi Liotte!!! I haven't posted on the Yankees thread in FOREVER! Horray for both our teams today!!!

Sorry for the mini thread-jack...I thought Rex would have been too obvious a choice of someone to bump off. For a minute there I was thinking Zach would kill himself, or they'd bump off Roger Bart's character (though he didn't end up making an appearance)...I give Lynette's husband a month dealing w/ those beastly children on a daily basis before he begs her to go back to their "normal routine."

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

I really liked how "quiet" the last moments were, how they managed to have a cliff-hanger without resorting to the same old tired, cliched prime-time soap dramatics (actually, they've managed to do this pretty much the whole season).

My take on it ****Spoilers***

Does anyone actually believe that Rex is dead? Or that Bree's cooking contributed? Or is it more likely George put the potassium in his medication? I've only seen about a third of the shows but it seems pretty predictable.
Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

I don't know how'd they'd bring him back. It could be a trick of the doctors to see if they could figure out if Bree caused his heart problems, but that's pretty unorthodox. And George definetly messed up his medication.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

*SPOILER*

George has been replacing Rex's medicine for awhile now...I think the point of that whole scene (and Rex's note) is that Bree is now going to have to live with the knowledge that Rex thought she was responsible before he died.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

Rex is definitely dead. He died believing that Bree had been trying to poison him. Ultimately, he forgives her, as he's dying. She'll have to live with the knowledge that he died believing she was trying to kill him. George was definitely responsible for Rex's death.

Anyone else get that Mike is actually Zach's father? That's why Zach will ultimately not kill him when the series resumes in the fall.

Spoilers***************

Bree will be charged with her husband's murder. Didn't anyone else get that? And Bart's character will be there to help her through it all.

Yes, Mike is Zach's father.
PEACE.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

That was quite the crazy episode! Yea Mike is Zack's father and the first thing he needs to do is have that boy committed. He aint't right. As far as Bree, she'll be charged but the police will eventually put it together, just in time for Bree to realize and George to show just how crazy he is.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

That was great, and yes, there were way too many commercials. I taped it, and found myself fastforwarding way too much.

It's heartwrenching the thought that Rex died thinking Bree poisoned him.

And what's Susan's past? At the end, when she (Mary Alice) was talking about the state of the different housewives, she said something to the effect of dealing with her past... when the focus was on Susan. Maybe she was talking about Mike, but for the others it was something about them.

AND what are Alfre Woodard and her son hiding? They were rather touchy about letting Edie into the house.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

I loved how it ended, with each housewife faced with big changes next season. A genius way to end the first season I think. The whole Mike being Zach's father is really going to be interesting next season....and I'm not sure how I'm going to make it til next season....

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

I missed the latter half, but enjoyed what I saw. I figured out the whole Mike/Zack thing last episode. Thanks, Tivo. (I had to rewind it a few times to get it though)

I still don't think I've got the whole Susan thing down yet.

And Lynn just pisses me off. I dont know why.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

I didn't understand what Susan's past has to do with anything either... Lynnette finally gets what she's wanted all along, I suppose - that's going to be interesting. I loved the whole thing with Carlos and John - very funny!

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

Yeah, the Mike/Zach thing was obvious last week. I thought the last thing we'd hear was a gunshot after Mike walked in the house.

I also had the feeling that Rex isn't really dead. Hmm.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

How much do you want to bet that Alfre Woodard's son isn't really her son?

And PS... There were no more commercials than usual. They didn't go to commercials directly after the opening credits. They were just interspersed differently. So, it might have seemed like there were more. But, the same amount of commercial time was sold, and the run time of the episode was the same as all the others.

"Anyone else get that Mike is actually Zach's father? That's why Zach will ultimately not kill him when the series resumes in the fall."

But Zach will have a gun pointed at Mike the second he walked into the house, thinking that Mike killed his father. That irrational child will not stop to think about any other possibilities. He doesn't know that Mike may be his father when he attempts to kill him.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

liotte... you obviously aren't all that familiar with the Soap Opera genre. If Zach was going to kill Mike the moment he walked in the door, you would have heard a gunshot at the very end of the episode. (And even then, it wouldn't have necessarily meant that Mike had been shot.) Rest assured, Mike will have time to explain. And don't forget, Zach didn't have a good relationship with his "father" anyway.

re: Desperate Housewives- Season Finale

You are right- in that I have never watched a soap opera in my life. This is as close as I get. I was just thinking in a *supposedly* logical manner as to the progress of events. I'm sure the 1st episode in the fall will be nothing like what I am thinking could happen.
