Just came home from seeing this, and recommend it very highly. I saw it in 3D but the theater has alternating 3D and 2D showings if the 3D thing isn't what you want. This is one of the few movies I have seen this year that was actually well written, clever, funny and touching. The vocal acting is first rate, and the little yellow guys (called "minions") are superb. I am not a fan of animated movies but this is one of the best movies I've seen all year. GO!
I am looking forward to seeing this movie. Have you seen Toy Story 3? If so, is it as good as Toy Story 3 which in my opinion was a masterpiece?

I haven't seen TOY STORY 3 but I was with someone who has, and loved it, too, and DESPICABLE ME is reportedly as good or better.
I have a few (adult) friends that have seen it and all said TS3 is far superior, but that DM was cute, fun and well worth their time.
I DID catch The Last Airbender with my kids last night. SIMPLY AWFUL. Bad writing, horrid acting, non existent directing. Costumes and sets were stunning.
That's exactly what my sister said about the Last Airbender too.
TOY STORY 3 is LEAGUES better than DESPICABLE ME. That being said, DESPICABLE ME is a great film which is both cute, hilarious, and almost touching. The Minions reminded me of the Toy Story aliens...just with a personality. If TS3 hadn't come out this year, then DESPICABLE ME would be my favorite animated film so far to win the Oscar.
Is it worth seeing Despicable Me in 3D? My wife has troubles with 3D, but she'll sit through it if it's worth it (like TS3). Or should we just go with 2D?

The 3D effects are not necessary to the story, so I would go with 2D instead.
