I'm on fall break now and I'm devoteing this week of time we have of too fighting my addiction to soap operas (ABC SOAPS) any suggestions?

Only 1 B in habit.

Do something, anything, to get yourself out of the house during the afternoon hours. Go for a run, go to the library, go to a coffee shops and read, do all your grocery shopping. Anything to get you away from a TV during these hours. If you're at home, just having the TV there is a temptation. I used to be addicted to soaps, since I watched them with my mom and sister every day after school. Then I joined the track team and was never home until 6pm. After 3 months, I was so lost in all the storylines, I never wanted to watch them anymore.

Do you have SoapNet? You may want to use the V-chip and block that channel as well.

I kicked my soap habit about 6 months ago (or whenever Bianca left AMC). I work, so I was taping, then Tivo-ing everyday, but I never had time to watch. I got so behind, I finally just said screw it. But every once in a while, if I'm home, I'll turn them on and I can pick up on what's happening pretty easily.

My advice, turn off the TV. You can do it. Be strong. I promise it does get easier. :P
