I just had a hundred babies. I'm a freaking guppy. Beat that. ~ Calvin

Hey, my image got deleted! It wasn't obscene or anything. Just a merkin propped up against a white surface. That's all. ~ StageManager2

Calvin~ I just took my revenge on Seal. I beat him with one of those spiky clubs and said, "Now THAT'S a kiss from a rose, bitch."

re: AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY – First Preview Review (No Spoilers)

How were the two replacements? RentBoy, how can a title turn people off? Amy Morton is oustandingly outstanding. Having seen her in quite a few things at Steppenwolf, I've been a big fan of hers in the least creepy way possible.

It really doesn't feel like 3.5 hours, I promise. I saw it twice and would see it again if I could in New York. The acting and writing is so mesmerizing that it's impossible to look away or be bored.

re: August, Letts' Lauded Tale of an Oklahoma Clan, Will Find Home on Broad

I've seen the show twice and, trust me, it doesn't feel like three and a half hours at all. The Pirate Queen felt muuuccccchhhhh longer to me. You all should definitely see this play. The cast works so well as an ensemble. Yay for Steppenwolf for taking it to New York!

re: No more plays on Broadway...

Well, it's just been announced that August: Osage County by Tracy Letts is coming to Broadway in the fall. That will definitely liven the play scene up a bit and get people in. You guys are so lucky!

I also love woks, although I didn't realize Norn's was better than anyone else's.

All of you people who are stalking these men are freaking me out. It's cool to have respect for their work, but damn, back the hell off.

re: The Meaning Of 'You Can't Stop The Beat' Means To You

Aug 6, 2007 — 1:18:49 PM

This thread title is sending me into convulsions. 'The song from Hairspray "You Can't Stop The Beat" means to me, it's feels like Heaven in paradise. And that means to me about feeling like dancing in the street and listening to this song and feel the energy on "You Can't Stop The Beat".' And what the blank does that mean, Shawn11029834198765879879182761208905198?

re: The Pirate Queen

I wish that this show had been better. I think that it WAS the right story (I didn't buy a ticket to see something that wasn't interesting!), but was presented really poorly. The story got watered down into a generic presentation of a Disney musical. The melodies were boring, the book was boring, the lyrics were boring. That's why it failed. I wish that someone else had done the book and the music/lyrics because it COULD HAVE BEEN so good. It's really quite depressing that it was such a mess.

re: Who saw 'The Red Shoes?

Jul 13, 2007 — 8:38:57 PM

I love the movie. I love it sooooooo much. I love dancing and melodrama, so, with those two combined, the movie is just an extended orgasm for me. Too much information? I can't possibly imagine a stage production of it, though. To me, it's a very cinematic story, just as Moulin Rouge is, which also should not be onstage.

re: A Chorus Line - Sunday July 8th

Jul 9, 2007 — 5:33:57 PM

Why were people panicking if the person only fainted? I mean, yeah, that's scary, but was she bleeding or something? It seems like it would have been more effective for someone to just get up and grab an usher rather than "panicking and screaming."
