I just saw this movie this afternoon and thought, other than Meryl Streep's perfomance, the movie was awful. I just finished reading the book which was a witty, bitchy expose of a ridiculous industry. The screenplay was written as one of those Kate Hudson-Rene Zellwegger-How to Loose a Man While Brining Up Helen In Ten Days, type of movies. The charcater of Miranda was nowhere near as good as that created in the book.
I guess it's just further evidence of Streep's talent that she was able to take what the screenwriter turned into the typical, feel good movie villian and make something non-typical out of it.
