I know I am not alone in forming either an impression of a person through their avatar or visualize them as such. However, some stick with me more than others. Examples:
-Munkustrap is Dominic Cooper to me. The expression in the avatar accompanies the sometimes snide remarks, but he is always truthful and a poster I have respect for.
-For those of you like me who have never seen Margo, the caricature of Bette Davis is a symbol of the wisdom and contributions made on our board
I don't know what I'm trying to say, but anyone who has fond feelings for our fellow posters and the image they embody in our minds while talking to them, drop a nice comment.
For the avatary occasion, I changed mine to a beautiful Follies girl.

If I ever see Glebb, I'll expect him to look like this:

MFor a long time mine was Betsy Joselyn looking ridiculous. I'd hate to know what impressions people got from that one.

That is quite an amusing thought VonTussle, but you see, when I pm'ed you for that picture after you had changed it that shows I remembered it. I will always remember you as the girl with that amazing Betsy picture

Please re-post Betsy Joselyn's photo. I love her.
Do people think I look like Adam Pascal? I'm a girl, but I'm totally fine with that. He's very good looking.

its a shame he can't act.
But seriously, I'm not john spencer.

Oh Zoneace, come on, you know you qualify to go down in our memories as being John Spencer after having his pic displayed since he passed away.
It's a good thing I have myself in my avatar.

Yeah because then I don't have to subconsciously think I am talking to James Dean and Bette Davis
DottieD'Luscia...
*drat - the avatar doesn't show*
And Addy IS Audrey...
so, how many people think i look like a dutch rabbit?
I have the same association of avatar to poster which makes it hilarious when someone with an Indina Menzel or Adam Pascal, etc avatar talks about how much they like said performer.

I've always pictured Namo as looking like a Confederate colonel with a large beard and perhaps a bit hefty, weight-wise.
And the contrast between PalJoey's avatar and the content of his posts are rather hilarious.

Stephen (Patronus) was emcee Norbert for me until he shattered my blissful illusion and started using his own picture.
the fcc, the state of ny and the catholic church have told me that i can't talk about my impressions of colleen's av.
papalovesmambo I always think of you as that penguin avatar you used.
That pretty much describes the perils of my dating life in high school.
Stephen's face.

Oh hush, you know what I mean.
And, FTR, Clay is NOT Fuzzles the smart penguin. Just so everyone knows.
Over_the_Moon - You do know that really is Glebby, don't you?

Except when she meets him, I hope she knows not to expect him to look like that anymore :X. We still love him all the same :p

I do know that really is Glebby.
I'll just be thorougly disappointed if I ever happen to see him... standing around.
Well, maybe in the heart.
I still look like that little girl on top. Even if that pic was taken 55 years ago.
Indeed you do Mamie!
Though when we met, it was so hard to see you and not Scout like I told you
I've gotten many-a-PM getting hit on by gay guys b/c they thought I am my gorgeous avatar. Hrmph. I really wanna date gay guys, no fair.
Quite a few people, even knowing I'm not beautiful Gerry, think I'm male because the male is in my avatar. It's weird.
I still think the best was Zeppie's shiny forehead :-P
I'm the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
