Deb shoots & kills Laguerta dead on purpose. Looks like next season will be one less character & will likely be the series last.

So I guess we don't need spoiler alerts within the posts since the thread subject has it? Will assume.
In this fictional universe, if I were Deb, I would have done the same thing, that or leave and let Dexter finish. I knew she wouldn't be able to shoot Dexter. That would have been worse for her to live with afterward. In the real world, thank goodness this isn't a situation I ever see myself having to deal with. Can't wait for next season!
I haven't seen it yet, but I am on the second to the last episode. So, Hannah dissolved a boatload of Alprozolam in her water. Have you ever taken a Xanax? Those things taste like DEATH. There's no way it could have been dissolved in water and the person have not known they were drinking it.

It's a tv show. It's fiction. Suspend your disbelief.
You can't when stupid $hit like that takes you out of the fiction.

Thank you, JerseyGirl. I couldn't agree more. It has gotten so beyond absurd (like HOMELAND) that it is almost hard to continue watching. I've been a faithful fan for all 7 seasons, but I highly doubt I would watch a 9th season if it continues past next year.
However, I wished they'd killed LaGuerta off years ago. Damn, she was annoying.

It was announced a while ago that next season will be the last.
I liked this season. It was interesting to see the changes in Dexter and how he, and Deb, handled them. The abundance of Jennifer Carpenter screentime was terrific.
I know this whole thread is spoilerific, but still FINALE SPOILER ALERT since JerseyGirl2 still hasn't seen it. I read in an interview with Lauren Vélez (LaGuerta) that that powerful moment where Deb runs over to LaGuerta, hugs her, and sobs was improvised by Jennifer Carpenter. This whole season has showcased some of her best work, but that part had me in tears.

Sh*t. I missed the part where Jersey said she hasn't seen it. I'm sorry I forgot to put in a spoiler alert, because now BWW won't let me edit!
No no. I watched directly after I posted in this thread. lol

Remember when Dexter was actually GREAT?
At this point, I'm hate-watching. Its amazing that Charisma Carpenter has been doing her best work yet with the worst writing ever. Besides Dexter's whole implausible personality change, I don't buy him all head-over-heels with Hannah. With Lumen? I bought it.
I am hate watching, too. I can't ever take Debra seriously because of her pink lips and brown skin. It's weird.
I don't get the Charisma Carpenter reference, though...

I meant Jennifer Carpenter. Sorry! :)

I imagine you watch LAW & ORDER, THE PRACTICE, ALLY MCBEAL, BOSTON LEGAL, and THE GOOD WIFE and have no problem suspending your disbelief during those totally unrealistic courtroom scenes.
Well, of those shows, i have only watched Law & Order. There are thousands of courtrooms across the country. One could easily assume that perhaps some are similar to the way these courtrooms work. As I am not in the legal profession and have had no run-ins with the law, those inconsistencies don't make a blip on my radar. As a person who gags every time I try to swallow a Xanax and considering every pill tastes the same and it would take a ridiculous amount t make someone black out while driving, the whole thing was laughable. If it was dissolved in water, it would be undrinkable. It was a huge plot point and it made no sense.
I also get pissed off when they have their high speed, throw your bike, motor cycle chases or when the main character wears his unscuffed white sneakers while riding his bike on Sons of Anarchy. No real biker would do that. It makes me cringe. I still watch the show. It's hate watching, too.
I've faithfully tuned in each season but next season will be the last for me regardless. That show has become too painful to watch.
Bumpity bump bump. Anyone still watching?
Present and accounted for.
Okay, are they just screwing with us at this point? Is Vogel the murderer or are they just trying to make us think she is without coming out and saying it? I have had her pinned since she walked into the station. It seems too obvious, yet they haven't pointed at her directly.
"I have had her pinned since she walked into the station."
That makes two of us. I think that she's somewhat jealous of the exploits of her patients OR as implausible as it seems, she's his brother Brian's biological mom who was spurned by Harry. If the latter scenario holds water, Dr. Vogel could be out to avenge the death of her son and she could have recruited Dexter's protege Zach to do the deed. Zach's really a quick study!
I'm really going to miss Zach. I was hoping his story line was going to go a different way.
I'm kind of confused about his death too. I thought they killed the guy who was cutting out people's brains? Am I missing something? Does Vogel have a split personality?

I feel like a complete moron now. I missed the latest episode so I wasn't aware that Zach has been off'd. Then the focus is clearly on Dr. Vogel again.
I gotta fire up the lastest ep right now.
Where is all this headed?
No problems catsnyrevival.
When I re-entered this thread something didn't feel quite right. Your post reminded me that I fell asleep before the episode was available on demand. I usually watch True Blood first, then Dexter after midnight.
Popped in to see what the fuss was about. I haven't seen anything since Season 4.
And a little bit of Charisma Carpenter would be awesome. She's my favorite from Buffy, besides "Bored now" Willow. (I know you meant Jennifer but I really love Charisma.)
