re: Disney World

Yes, ET said hello to me.
I only went once and before the kinks were worked out.
I stick with Disney.

re: Disney World

My bf and I attended the Princess Breakfast in Cinderella's castle two years ago during Gay Days in Orlando. We had pictures taken with all the girls: Belle, Snow White, Cinderella and Mary Poppins.

It remains the gayest thing we've ever done. And one of the most fun.

re: Disney World

Epcot Rox??? Joey and I were there last year and it was filthy, worn down, overpriced and there was not much to do except shop and eat - a few rides - but most of it was just boring. I wished I'd spent the entrance fee on something more worth while.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

re: Disney World

Epcot's suffered a lot from (what I consider) its heyday in the mid- to late-80s, but I still think it's my favorite of the four parks there. Future World has taken quite the turn for the worse, but I still love spending time in World Showcase, looking through the shops, dining at the different restaurants, etc.

I guess that's the beauty of having four parks--everyone gets to enjoy what he likes. I know for a lot of people, the Studios is their favorite, due to the thrill rides. I'm not a thrill fan, though, so it's my least favorite of the four.

re: Disney World

I have a soft spot for EPCOT also. Like Glebb, I grew up in Florida near the parks so I've been hundreds of times as well. Lots of fond memories.

Anyone know if IT'S A SMALL WORLD is still closed? It's my favorite ride out of all of them and I can't go back if it's not open.

re: Disney World

If I understand correctly, it's scheduled to re-open in March. Should be neat to see the new interior.

Kinda frightening that it's your _favorite_, though. :)

re: Disney World

yeah, i was disappointed with EPCOT as well... i think my favorite park is Animal Kingdom, but probably because we had an amazing experience in the safari... the day we went to AK, the weather was a bit foggy, and it made for a very realistic experience on safari...

but as far as EPCOT, it's now my last choice...

re: Disney World

I was at MGM last Wednesday and I go to Islands of Adventure all the time
I live in Orlando, it's pretty good sans humidity

re: Disney World

MGM is my favorite park. I wish I lived closer to Orlando so I could go more often! I think I've been to Disney World about seven or eight times.

re: Disney World

I'm going on my 4th week-long Disneyworld trip this summer. Excited, I love it there! My fav parks in order are Magic Kingdon, MGM, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. Actually, I think I'd put Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach over Animal Kingdon, just not my kind of park I guess, I prefer more rides.

The first time we went was '96 and we loved Futureworld in EPCOT. Horizons was one of all of our favorite pavilions, and it had the old Journey to Imagination setup(I miss it terribly!), and well...I guess those are the only differences but it seems to be a big one. I'd love to go on Mission Space, but I think I'll chicken out, the contest between cool ride doesn't compare to feeling of nausea for days.

Ooh, does anyone know if Carousel of Progress is reopened at all? Another fav of mine that's been closed lately.

I went last year for Spring break. I love Disney World way too much.

re: Disney World

I was there last July.

While some elements of the parks were not as perfect as I remember from previous visits, I still loved WDW. The Magic Kingdom, in particular is still such a happy place.

Can't they make Tiger River Rapids longer in Animal Kingdom? It is a great ride for cooling off on a Summer's day.

re: Disney World

My brother's going for spring break. Lucky duck.

A couple weeks ago I met a guy who did the college program. He gave me a paper with the autographs of every single character he did while he was there. It's awesome (and on my refridgerator :x).

My favorite thing EVER is the animation studio. I miss it - I went last summer and it was so depressing (no more animators, or even the Robin Williams/Walter Cronkite video...). I wanted to work there when I was a kid.

re: Disney World

I was there last Sat with my best friend, and we had a lot of fun. Got tix thru a friend that were parkhopper tix, so we went to Magic Kingdom as well. Went to the newest ride Mission Mars at EPCOT, and there's a reason they provide barf bags. You can get VERY queasy on this thing due to the motion. the Luckily, we didn't need to use them!! We had the best time at Splash Mountain (God Bless fast pass :))I used to live in Fla, and hadn't been back since 1999, so some things had changed. I'm not a kid, but it was fun to act like one for a while. Now back to reality.

re: Disney World

I was there this past Dec. - I LOVE WDW!!! And you are right, Mission: Space is AWESOME! I was Commander once, and Engineer once. Love Tower of Terror, too; it's like having a big tank of adrenalin plugged into a major artery, I always come off it with this insane grin on my face. broadwaystar2b is talking me into riding Rock 'n' Roller Coaster next time. Love Splash Mountain, that is the most fun of all. Also the 3-D movies (esp. Philharmagic, the new one; love it when the champagne corks pop at you at the end of "Be Our Guest.") I got drenched on Kali River Rapids at AK; I was facing backwards when we hit the one significant drop and I was wringing water out of my clothes all the way out of the park. I was so wet, I felt guilty sitting down on the bus. If you ever get the chance to splurge, stay at the Polynesian. You can sit on the beach at night and watch the fireworks over the castle, and the lunches at Kona Cafe are great! I haven't been to Universal/IOA yet; will have to make time for that on the next trip, whenever that happens.

Oh, and I'm a regular reader of rec.arts.disney.parks, and I thought someone said there the other day that Small World is reopening on March 17, but I wouldn't swear to that.
